Shopify Developer We are seeking a proactive Shopify Developer with hands-on experience building and maintaining high-performance Shopify and Shopify Plus stores. The ideal candidate understands the Shopify ecosystem inside out, from Liquid templating and theme customization to app integrations and store optimization. This role is well-suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic agency environment, communicates clearly, and enjoys delivering clean, scalable, and conversion-focused Shopify solutions. Part-time: 20 hours per week (with potential to grow to full-time) Remote: Fully remote, CET working hours Engagement Type: Independent Contractor Monthly Rate: $600-750 (based on a 20-hour workweek; flexible depending on experience) What You'll Be Doing: - Build, customize, and maintain Shopify and Shopify Plus stores with high-quality front-end code. - Implement pixel-perfect interfaces from Figma designs using a mastery of Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Work extensively with the Shopify JavaScript ecosystem, including the AJAX API, cart.js, variant logic, product recommendation logic, and custom cart functionality. - Develop and maintain advanced features using Shopify Online Store 2.0, including dynamic sections, app blocks, metafields, and custom Liquid logic. - Configure and technically integrate major Shopify apps (e.g., subscriptions, reviews, bundling, translation). - Handle store migrations, theme updates, rebuilds, architecture restructures, and performance improvements. - Troubleshoot bugs, diagnose issues, and ensure clean, scalable, maintainable code and cross-device responsiveness. - Collaborate with leadership and the design team to accurately scope features and estimate development tasks. Who You Are: - With 3+ years of experience as a Shopify Developer. - Expert-level knowledge of Liquid and Shopify Online Store 2.0 architecture. - Front-End: Strong front-end development skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive layouts, and accessibility. - Deep familiarity with the Shopify JavaScript ecosystem, including AJAX API, cart.js, variant logic, product recommendation logic, and custom cart functionality. - Experience implementing pixel-perfect Figma designs into high-quality code. - Experience integrating and troubleshooting major Shopify apps. - Ability to work independently, think critically, and deliver polished, high-performing front-end experiences. - Experience in agency or multi-client environments is a big plus! - Experience with Shopify headless concepts (e.g., using Hydrogen/Oxygen), a nice-to-have. About the Role We're looking for a Senior Shopify Developer who writes clean, maintainable code and can own projects end-to-end. You'll be building and customizing Shopify storefronts, translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect responsive code, handling deep subscription app integrations, and working across both the frontend and backend of Shopify.
