Job Title: Senior Payroll Specialist Location: UK - Homebased Type: Permanent About the role We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to ensure BSI’s payroll process is flawlessly executed and scales with our business growth. This is an incredible opportunity to be a key contributor to our payroll team, leading the charge in ensuring seamless and accurate payroll processing for our diverse workforce. You will be part of a close-knit, collaborative payroll team, reporting to the UK Payroll Manager within a lively and friendly Shared Service Centre. This position will work closely with internal and external business partners, as well as the HR Operations team, to develop and implement global payroll best practices, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate and timely outsourced payroll production in accordance with statutory regulations, focusing on excellent customer service while handling day-to-day payroll queries. You will continuously adapt to changing landscapes, supported by a brilliant infrastructure of specialists, training, and technology, becoming a go-to expert in payroll. Responsibilities: - Processing UK payrolls from start to finish, uploading data from Workday HR into Zellis Resource Link, performing data entry calculations, deductions, and payments. - Administration of Pension Auto-Enrolment, including monthly assessment of all employees for pension auto-enrolment eligibility. - Administration of BSI’s defined benefits plan. - Process monthly payroll journals and reconciliations for Finance. - Maintain a deep understanding and ensure strict adherence to all relevant statutory legislation related to UK payroll. - Manage payroll for over 2,000 employees prioritising accuracy and efficiency. - Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, including HR, Finance, and employees. - Work effectively to tight deadlines, ensuring on-time and accurate payroll delivery. - Utilise excellent communication skill to explain complex payroll information clearly and concisely to both internal and external stakeholders. - Maintain a meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of all payroll data and calculations. - Support the Payroll Manager by continuously improving, developing, and coordinating payroll of processes and procedures. - Mentoring and supporting team members. - Stay up to date with the latest changes in UK payroll legislation and procedures. To be successful in the role, you will have: - Previous experience of end-to-end payroll in a similar senior position - Leadership experience in mentoring and developing junior members of a team - Emotional maturity when liaising with various stakeholders to build trusted and engaging relationships within the business - Understanding of processes and change, promoting best practice - The ability to work under pressure towards strict deadlines and procedures - CIPP qualification would be highly desirable - Solid knowledge of ResourceLink and Workday highly advantageous Grow your career and expand your skills and knowledge.
