DevOps Engineer – Observability

• Design, implement, and improve reliable, scalable, performant, and secure production platforms and services. • Work closely with cross-functional teams to build and maintain resilient infrastructure and deployment patterns. • Support and guide engineers across the organisation, promoting strong engineering standards and operational best practice. • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support critical services and ensure platform availability. • Drive standardisation, automation, and documentation to improve consistency, reduce operational overhead, and support knowledge sharing. • Contribute across the full lifecycle of platform and service delivery, from design and build through to operation and optimisation.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or software engineering roles.
- Strong Kubernetes experience, with a solid understanding of containers and container orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Programming skills in at least one object-oriented language, along with scripting and automation capability.
- Good understanding of security principles and best practices across infrastructure, platforms, and services.
- Hands-on experience in one or more major cloud platforms, with exposure to AWS, GCP, or OCI.
- Monitoring, alerting, and observability experience using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed systems.
- Strong Linux and/or Windows systems administration experience.
- Experience with software delivery automation, CI/CD pipelines, and secure SDLC practices, including exposure to static and dynamic security testing.
- Good understanding of SRE concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, toil reduction, availability, and observability.
- Experience managing and supporting Elasticsearch in production is beneficial.

Role Description ECS is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity DevOps and Kubernetes Engineer to work remotely. The Senior Cybersecurity DevOps and Kubernetes Engineer is driven to solve complex business and data problems by developing and maintaining a Kubernetes-based application environment that is configured through code. This includes: - Developing a rapidly deployable Kubernetes architecture configured through code. - Scripting deployments of Kubernetes clusters. - Maintaining automation that allows code updates through a DevSecOps pipeline. This role helps enable ECS to continually deliver state-of-the-art solutions for security and defense to its customers. The Kubernetes Engineer will be expected to interface with a wide variety of teams and maintain relationships that enable successful integration of the disparate parts of an Enterprise-class data and analytics solution. They will work with Data Scientists, Cloud Architects, and Analysts to ensure that clear data and analytics problems are being addressed and that the solution addresses the problem. Salary Range: $100,000-$160,000 Qualifications - Must be a US Citizen. - Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant industry work experience in DevOps. - Experience in detailed technical requirements gathering, interpretation, analysis, and validation to develop strategic plans to meet customer mission requirements. - Knowledgeable in at least one of the following scripting languages: Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript. - Experience using version control systems such as Git. - Kubernetes install, configuration, and management. - Helm chart creation and installation. - Git experience. - Up to 10% travel may be required.
