Senior Manager, Business Development

• Develop capture plans for the capture of retrofit and new avionics positions on air mobility aircraft for the U.S. DoD and international MoD agencies and U.S. and international OEM's with a heavy emphasis on airlift/air refueling platforms. • This includes capture strategies, gate reviews, win strategies, competitive intelligence, price to win, negotiation strategy, customer relationship management, and proposal development. • Serve as the primary face to the customer who establishes and maintains customer business relationships in domestic or international markets. • Maintain personal contact and interface with key customers in such a manner as to influence future requirements, and/or operational capabilities, thus enabling Collins to provide a solution to meet the customer's needs while improving Collins’ probability to win. • Develop and lead decision Gate Reviews for new or expanded business areas identified from the above activities in accordance with the Collins RLPM process. • Create and manage the contact plan for primary customers. • Develop win strategies, themes, and discriminators for the Collins team. • Conduct price to win models and competitive assessments. • Manage customer lifecycle management tool (Salesforce) by providing regular and relevant updates. • Travel up to 30% may be required (both domestic and international).
Job Requirements
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- Expert knowledge in all functional aspects of business development
- Detailed understanding and experience with new business capture processes for pursuits greater than $50M
- A strong aviation background with particular emphasis on Air Mobility concepts of operation is required.
- Proven leadership across multiple echelons of organizations with indirect applications
- Experience in the operation, planning, or sustainment of the US Air Force Air Mobility fleets is highly desired.
- The ideal candidate will have served in a branch of the US Armed Forces with direct experience in the operation of the C-5, C-17, C-130, KC-10, KC-135 or other mobility aircraft.
- A working knowledge of International Affairs and Foreign Military Sales is desired.
- A broad contact database to include Air Mobility Command, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Air Force Material Command, United States Transportation Command, Secretary of the Air Force for International Affairs, Headquarters United States Air Force, and US Embassies abroad is preferred.
- Experience working for or with aircraft OE manufacturers is desired.
- Preference will be given to applicants holding, or with the ability to readily obtain, a US security clearance.
- The candidate should be confident and well-spoken in oral presentations, and have sufficient technical background, either through experience or education, to have a basic understanding of the technology for which they will be responsible.
- Candidates should have a strong understanding and experience of defense acquisition across the U.S. Department of War and international customers including requirements generation, the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes
- Candidate should have a strong foundation of program management processes, production programs, demand planning and SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning)
