Responsibilities The Deputy Chief Support Operations serves as the technical and execution lead for the Support Operations Division, ensuring all support services—across user access, enterprise IT coordination, and secure facility operations—are delivered efficiently, securely, and in alignment with mission priorities. Operating as a trusted advisor to the Chief of Support Operations, this role integrates security, IT, and facility considerations into actionable plans and workflows that the team can execute. While not a primary supervisor, the Deputy drives day-to-day execution by setting priorities, managing the backlog, and holding the team accountable to standards, timelines, and outcomes. This role brings deep subject matter expertise in security systems and compliance, ensuring all operations (digital and physical) are proactively aligned with governing requirements. The Deputy also operates as a tactician, empowered to coordinate with vendors, evaluate solutions, and execute approved actions to maintain and improve operational capability. When required, the Deputy assumes full responsibility for the division in the absence of the Chief. Core Responsibilities - Serve as the execution lead for Support Operations, translating priorities into actionable plans, tasking, and workflows across the team - Manage and prioritize the division backlog, ensuring work is aligned to mission needs and executed efficiently - Drive accountability across the team, tracking actions, enforcing standards, and ensuring timely completion of tasks and obligations - Integrate security, IT, and facility requirements into cohesive operational solutions that are practical, compliant, and executable - Provide subject matter expertise across security systems, secure facility operations, and enterprise IT support functions - Oversee and validate compliance with security requirements, ensuring all processes, systems, and facilities meet applicable standards proactively - Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues, improve workflows, and enhance service delivery - Engage with vendors and trades to scope work, obtain and evaluate quotes, and support execution of facility and infrastructure improvements - Execute authorized purchases and transactions within delegated authority, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources and alignment with program priorities - Support management of facility operations, including secure and unclassified spaces, ensuring readiness, functionality, and compliance - Enhance operational processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and maximize team productivity - Maintain continuity of operations and leadership, assuming full authority and decision-making responsibility in the absence of the Chief Expected Outcomes - Support Operations executes with discipline, clarity, and accountability, with all work tracked, prioritized, and completed on time - Security and compliance requirements are proactively maintained and continuously validated, with no gaps, surprises, or audit deficiencies - Workflows across IT support, user services, and facility operations are integrated, efficient, and continuously improving - The team operates at high productivity, with clear priorities, minimal rework, and effective coordination across responsibilities - Vendor engagements and facility improvements are well-scoped, cost-effective, and executed efficiently, supporting mission needs - Resources and funds are managed responsibly and transparently, with sound judgment applied to all transactions and decisions - Issues and risks are identified early and resolved effectively, preventing disruption to users or operations - The division maintains operational continuity and effectiveness regardless of leadership availability - Stakeholders experience reliable, professional, and responsive support services, reinforcing trust in the platform - Support Operations remains secure, compliant, and mission-ready, with all physical and digital environments operating to standard Qualifications Must Have - Active Top Secret clearance - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited institution - 10 years of relevant experience - Demonstrated experience leading day‑to‑day operational execution in a technical or security‑focused environment, including setting priorities and managing workflow backlogs - Proven ability to integrate security, IT, and facility requirements into practical operational plans and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable standards - Hands‑on expertise with security systems, secure facility operations, and enterprise IT support functions, including coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders - Track record of driving accountability across teams, monitoring task execution, enforcing standards, and delivering work on schedule - Experience managing facility or infrastructure work—scoping tasks, evaluating quotes, overseeing execution, and responsibly managing delegated purchasing authority At SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain top talent.
