We are seeking a Principal Systems Administrator with extensive experience designing, securing and maintaining Omnissa Horizon remote access, application delivery, and virtual desktop environments to join our VDI team. The successful candidate will also have experience with Windows Server and Windows Server technologies. Knowledge of and hands on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and ADC's is also a plus. The Systems Administrator will be expected to team with peers, internal customers, and management to provide technical solutions and lead projects to strengthen the consistency and standardization of IT infrastructure through automation and enterprise services to achieve operational excellence and program success. While this position is an individual contributor role, collaboration and strong technical knowledge and skills will be essential attributes. The position offers flexibility with options for hybrid or remote work and 5/40 or 9/80 schedules. What You'll Do: - Responsible for the design, engineering, deployment, and maintenance of highly-available and secure Omnissa Horizon Operating environments. - Support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop environments including Citrix Application Delivery Controllers (NetScaler) - Work includes technical planning (cost, capacity, logistics), architecture, design, implementation, configuration management, maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, mitigation efforts, and monitoring of services and solutions. - Continuous evaluation of currently deployed and emerging Remote Desktop and Access solutions to evolve business operations. Define process and success criteria for new technology proof of concepts. - Assist with the creation of key performance indicators and metrics reports and dashboards to represent service health and user experience. - Perform customer outreach to support service enhancements and troubleshooting. - Provide technical and project leadership for the development of advanced solutions, assist with project direction, milestone planning, and completion. - Interface with internal customers, program security, and management teams in planning for, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting services and systems. - Assist management with VDI service roadmaps and service lifecycle management. - Document technical processes and procedures as needed. - Represent the VDI Team in meetings, including solution, architecture, and security reviews. - Facilitate technical and group discussions. - Cross train and assist with technical development of less experienced team members. - Work under limited direction to determine, develop, and provide solutions/enhancements adhering to strict Information Systems security guidelines. - Leverage troubleshooting skills to address stability objectives both reactively and proactively. - Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Participate in on-call rotations. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships withing Enterprise Shared Services and company Business Sectors. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment. - Perform other duties as necessary. Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor's degree in a related technical field plus 6 or more years related experience. Related technical experience or certifications may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education - 4+ Years of experience supporting a VMWare Horizon environment - Functional knowledge of core networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancing, VLAN segmentation, etc. - Functional knowledge of Group Policy creation, application, and inheritance. - Superb communication skills. Ability to translate highly technical details into easy to understand concepts. - Excellent organization and project management/project coordination skills.
