The Property Pricing Sophistication Consultant is responsible for facilitating the smooth implementation of rating enhancements and shaping the next generation of rating capabilities for Homeowners, Tenants, and Condominium products. This role leads the full segmentation lifecycle - research, analysis, build, implementation, and monitoring - while partnering closely with Actuarial, State Management, Underwriting, IT, and Delivery. Core activities include: - Deploy class plans across all states, including prioritization, funding, scheduling, identifying state variances, and managing interactions related to filings and DOI approvals. - Drive the next iteration of the Precision Plus Homeowners rating plan by coordinating end‑to‑end segmentation lifecycle activities such as competitive analysis, scoping, modeling, funding, implementation, and performance monitoring. - Serve as the primary business contact and SME for rating plan elements, collaborating across teams on filing objections, product inquiries, process considerations, and impacts to the customer and agent experience. Required skills & experience: - Personal Lines Insurance experience - Experience from within P&C Product Management, Product Development, Actuarial/Pricing, or Underwriting - Ability to lead working groups and manage complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders Desired skills & experience: - Experience with Homeowners, Tenants, and Condominium rating and product features - Knowledge of rate filings, regulatory processes, and DOI interactions - Background in competitive analysis and rating segmentation strategies - High-level understanding of how rating factors are developed by actuarial and modeling teams This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Your work will include designing, leading and implementing all aspects of project work plans, including planning, communication, execution and completion. Your work will focus on driving assigned product growth and profitability. You'll typically have responsibility for a single product line, e.g., standard auto, power sports, property or commercial. You'll have opportunities to work with many areas across the organization regarding product and pricing features. Job Description Key Responsibilities: - Leads new business development and implementation projects. Provides leadership to all functional areas related to product design and management. Makes recommendations based on in-depth functional knowledge and opportunities for improvement. - Develops and implements strategic business rules that support business requirements. Reviews pricing, design features and associated processes. Partners with underwriting to develop standards and guidelines. - Develops and drives key initiatives related to growth and profitability. Manages strategies related to multiple product growth and profitability objectives. Coordinates product strategy with sales, agency management, field product and marketing. - Develops and controls timelines, including regularly re-assessing risks, throughout project life. Revises project plans on an ongoing basis to maintain alignment with other projects and/or business strategy. - Leads the process of analyzing market information on competitors. Proactively identifies product opportunities. - Leads the coordination, development and implementation of new product training. - Responsible for internal and external resource management, budgeting and cost containment. - Provides market analysis tools and global data to the regions. Completes a national product analysis regarding performance, financial results, profitability, business mix and competition. Designs forecasting models and functions as a technical specialist on product issues. Communicates financial objectives and results. - Guides the exploration, sponsoring and evaluation process of new product performance tools and technology enhancements. Accountable for the quality and effectiveness of rate change and system improvement implementations. Coordinates process change improvements. May provide input to appropriate functional areas to develop business specifications. - Leads the rate review, filing and communication process for new development initiatives. Coordinates product recommended implementations. Initiates action plans to improve and/or maintain product performance. Ensures underwriting guidelines align with rate plan changes and corporate strategy. - Designs and implements state level product strategy and communication plans throughout the organization. Assures effective communication to appropriate product leaders and functional areas of the organization. - Proactively seeks out opportunities to interact with other business partners while developing cross functional knowledge in claims, sales, marketing, pricing, operations, underwriting and finance. Acts as a mentor to business partners. May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Officer. May have direct or indirect reports. Typical Skills and Experiences: Education: Undergraduate studies in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, product management, finance, business administration or related field. Masters’ of Business Administration degree preferred. License/Certification/Designation: Insurance licenses or designations such as CPCU, ACAS, ARM, FLMI, NASD, Project Management Certification preferred. Experience: Six years of experience in personal/commercial lines insurance, financial services, marketing or communications including two years previous product management experience. Managerial experience, including facilitation, resolution, delegation and mentoring preferred. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of property and casualty insurance product, analytical tools, telematics, core business functions, underwriting policies and practices, performance measurement techniques, and systems required. Knowledge of related pricing, marketing, insurance models/contracts, and financial analysis vital. Project management concepts and techniques; solid understanding of business terminology; business systems and data processing policies, practices and procedures. Knowledge of business-related systems concepts and requirements preferred. Excellent relationship building skills. Outstanding project management skills such as organization and planning, interaction, leadership and motivational techniques. Strong negotiation skills and data quality/integrity problem solving skills. Decision making skills for problem identification and selection of alternatives. Verbal and written communication skills at all levels for technical personnel and customer contact. Technical report preparation and formal presentation skills. Operates effectively in an environment of goals, targeted dates and high workloads. Adjusts schedule or work hours to meet changes in priorities.
