VOIP QA Automation Engineer
Vonage
• Design and maintain Python/SIPssert/SIPP-based test frameworks for voice platform validation • Create CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for continuous testing • Write automated test suites for SIP protocols, call flows, and carrier integrations • Develop monitoring automation with AWS and Grafana to catch issues early • Improve test infrastructure—speed, reliability, and coverage • Participate in early system design, providing valuable input on early architectural decisions phases • Own, triage, investigate and help with resolution and validation of production defects or early stage malfunctions during development • Manually validate complex voice scenarios and call quality • Run exploratory and chaos testing to find edge cases • Analyze SIP call flows using Wireshark, VoipMonitor etc • Perform performance testing under real-world conditions • Partner with developers on test strategies and code reviews • Investigate production issues using logs, traces, and packet captures • Champion quality best practices and shift-left testing • Document findings and share knowledge with the team
Job Requirements
- SIP protocol knowledge (call flows, signaling)
- 3+ years QA experience (manual + automation)
- 2+ years test automation framework development
- Network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, VoipMonitor)
- AWS basics and cloud platform familiarity
- Nice to have (we'll help you learn!): Python or another programming language
- Ribbon SBC/SLB/PSX, OpenSIPs, or SIPp platforms
- Docker, Grafana, GitHub Actions
- RTP, SRTP, VOIP protocols
- MySQL, DevOps tools (Ansible, Terraform)
