RISE Program Manager (East) - 20-Month Contract (Maternity Leave Replacement) remote Montreal, QUEBEC, Canada. full-time. March 18, 2026 Description About Apathy is Boring Founded in 2004, Apathy is Boring is a national, youth-led, non-partisan charitable organization that educates and supports youth to be active, contributing citizens in Canada's democracy. Role Overview Reporting to the Program Director, the RISE Program Manager (East) oversees the delivery and daily operations of the RISE program across Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax. Working closely with the RISE Program Manager (West) and cross-functional teams, you will manage regional Program Coordinators, oversee program budgets, and ensure our initiatives make a measurable impact on youth civic engagement across Canada. Key Responsibilities Program Strategy & Operations - Collaborate closely with RISE leadership to define program objectives, goals, and community risk mitigation strategies. - Develop and adapt curriculum to improve youth participant success, applying a strong equity and population-focused lens. - Manage project deadlines, timelines, and program budgets for the Eastern region. - Lead the content development for the bi-annual RISE conference in partnership with the West Manager. Team Leadership & Management - Lead the hiring, onboarding, and training of RISE Program Coordinators in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Halifax. - Monitor work plans, conduct performance evaluations, and hold regular check-ins to support your team. - Travel to hub cities to support Coordinators and ensure smooth program rollouts. Partnerships & Evaluation - Support the development of partnerships with community organizations across Eastern Canada. - Coordinate with the Communications team to ensure effective participant recruitment and timely distribution of materials. - Assess program performance against KPIs, grant deliverables, and evaluation plans. - Support the Research Team in drafting reports and integrating learnings into future program iterations. Qualifications & Skills - Post-secondary education in civic engagement, political science, project management, leadership, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and lived/professional experience. - Minimum 2 years of management experience and 1 year of budget management experience. - Proven background developing programs for youth/communities and strong knowledge of local referral processes. - Proficient in Google Workspace, with an openness for learning new platforms. - Fluency in English is required; working French is a strong asset. - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to build rapport. Working Conditions - $60,450 to $78,000 annually ($31.00 – $40.00/hour), based on experience. - 37.5 hours/week, 20-month contract - May 19 2026 to January 15 2028 (flexible start date). - Remote work setup with approximately 20 days of cross-Canada travel per year. - Comprehensive group benefits (75% employer-paid), Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), and telemedicine services.
