Job Description

HetNet Optimization Engineer

Communication Technology Services (CTS)

• Support OEM Radio Equipment and HetNet/Small Cell deployment for regional and national projects. • Work with vendors and regional teams for OEM Radio Equipment and HetNet integration, commissioning, and optimization. • Analyze call testing, data collection, and previous optimization metrics as required. • Monitor system Key Performance Index (KPI) and make parameter adjustments with HetNet core access if provided. • Assist in HetNet equipment installation and turn-up as needed. • Understand the HetNet technology advancement and Small Cell OEM development for current and future technologies, including 4G LTE-A, 5G NR, CBRS/LAA, etc. • Develop standardized documentation and process to address integration, call testing, baseline walk, KPI monitoring, optimization, and reporting. • Develop and train the internal resources (local and national SPEs) for HetNet/Small Cell integration and optimization projects. • Provide technical support to regional and national team in HetNet/Small Cell solution selections, functionality comparison, performance analysis, etc. • Participate or support reviews and customer meetings to present HetNet /Small Cell solutions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous experience with Commissioning, Integration and/or Optimization of carrier networks.
  • Strong Radio Performance Optimization experience with Ericsson or Nokia required.
  • Small cell experience with any OEM: Nokia, Ericsson, Airspan or CommScope desired.
  • Experience with: Project Management of turnkey DAS solutions: design, construction, integration and closeout.
  • iBwave/iBwave Viewer and other RF prediction tools preferred.
  • MNO Carrier tools and terminology.
  • MNO Laptop for internal databases.
