Office 365 / Power Platform Engineer Type: Contract-to-Hire Category: Engineer Industry: Government Workplace Type: Remote Reference ID: JN -032026-105877 Description: The organization seeks an Office 365 / Power Platform Engineer to design and integrate API-driven automation on Microsoft Power Platform. The role requires hands-on JavaScript or TypeScript API development, RESTful integrations, and Azure service connectivity. The engineer will enhance workflows with Power Automate and Power Apps, manage Dataverse and SharePoint Online, and apply Git-based version control. The position supports a federal customer and emphasizes secure, scalable delivery. Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. W2 Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain custom APIs using JavaScript or TypeScript to extend and integrate Microsoft Power Platform solutions. - Build and enhance automation workflows using Power Automate and Power Apps with API-driven integrations and scalable patterns. - Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft Azure services including Azure AD and Azure Functions. - Develop and manage data models and integrations using Microsoft Dataverse. - Create and consume RESTful APIs to connect Power Platform solutions with internal and external systems. - Maintain and support SharePoint Online sites, lists, and libraries supporting Power Platform solutions. - Use PowerShell to automate administrative tasks, manage Microsoft 365 services, and integrate with Azure AD. - Apply Git-based version control for source code management, collaboration, and deployment workflows. - Debug applications and develop unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and performance. - Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams to design solutions aligned with mission and operational requirements. - Stay current with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development best practices. Experience Requirements: - US Citizenship required. - 2+ years of experience developing solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform including Power Automate and Power Apps. - Hands-on experience with JavaScript or TypeScript focused on API development and integration. - Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs. - Experience working with Microsoft Dataverse. - 2+ years of experience supporting or managing SharePoint Online. - Proficiency with PowerShell for Microsoft 365 and Azure AD administration. - Experience using Git or similar version control systems. - Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure services including Azure Active Directory. - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. - Experience extending Power Platform using custom connectors, Azure Functions, or API-based services (preferred). - Familiarity with testing frameworks and automation practices (preferred). - Experience working in a federal or government environment (preferred). - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders (preferred). - Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving Microsoft cloud technologies (preferred).
