B2C Strategy Lead – Performance Marketing

• Own Client Strategy • Lead strategy across a portfolio of B2C and eCommerce clients • Translate business goals into full-funnel paid media strategies • Run client strategy sessions, performance reviews and planning conversations • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts • Drive Performance Marketing Outcomes • Oversee campaign strategy across Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and other paid channels • Guide campaign structure, testing frameworks and optimisation strategies • Monitor performance and step in when strategic changes are required • Ensure campaigns are aligned with revenue and growth objectives • Lead a Performance Pod • Manage and mentor two media buyers • Run weekly planning sessions and prioritise workloads across accounts • Provide feedback, coaching and development support • Foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture • Creative & Testing Strategy • Collaborate on creative direction and campaign briefs • Lead structured creative testing across paid social • Use insights and performance data to guide ongoing optimisation • Contribute to Agency Growth • Maintain strong client relationships and retention • Support new business opportunities through audits or strategic input • Share insights and learnings with the wider team
Job Requirements
- 5–8+ years experience in performance marketing
- Strong background in paid social (Meta) and paid search (Google Ads)
- Experience managing B2C or eCommerce client accounts
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to connect marketing activity to business outcomes
- Experience mentoring or managing team members
- Comfortable presenting strategy and performance insights to senior stakeholders
- Experience working in an agency environment is highly regarded.

Your day to day: Acquisition ownership & growth strategy - Translate market knowledge into a clear channel roadmap: what to run, where, why, and with what target metrics. Paid acquisition - Own Paid Search in China: structure, keywords, landing pages, budgets, bidding strategy, and reporting. - Launch and optimize campaigns on relevant China ad ecosystems (based on product fit): Baidu, 360, Shenma, Toutiao/Bytedance, Tencent, etc. - Collaborate with design/content to produce high-converting ads and landing pages. SEO growth (strategy + collaboration) - Define SEO strategy for China: topic clusters, landing page plan, competitor gap analysis, keyword priorities. - Partner closely with China Content Manager: turn strategy into execution while you own outcome metrics (traffic quality, signup/purchase conversion). - Identify technical/UX localization improvements that raise China CR% and reduce funnel drop-offs. Native China channels & partnerships - Identify and scale acquisition through native channels (depending on market reality): Zhihu, WeChat ecosystem, Bilibili, forums/communities, KOL/KOC collaborations, developer communities, etc. Market intelligence & competitor advantage - Maintain a clear view of competitor positioning, pricing tactics, channel mix, and messaging in China. - Bring competitor-informed playbooks and adapt them to our product and brand. - Monitor regulatory/market changes affecting proxy/scraping usage and marketing feasibility. Cross-functional leadership - Work with Product/Dev to ensure China users have a smooth journey (payment, onboarding, docs endpoints, tooling expectations). - Align with Sales/CS on ICP targeting and feedback loops for lead quality and user objections. Your skills & experience: - Deep understanding of the China digital marketing ecosystem and how to acquire users via native channels. - Proven track record scaling performance marketing in China (Paid Search and/or other paid channels). - At least 3 years of experience marketing proxy / VPN / scraping / cybersecurity / developer tools / SaaS (or closely related tech). - Ability to build growth plans based on data, run experiments, and optimize funnel conversion end-to-end. - Strong analytical skills: can define KPIs, build reporting, and make decisions based on results. - Fluent Mandarin and strong working proficiency in English (written and verbal). - Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced international environment. Nice to have: - Experience working at a proxy / scraping / VPN competitor or a similar China-focused tech company. - Experience with B2B SaaS and/or developer-targeted products. - Experience with partnerships/affiliates in China. - Understanding of China internet policies and constraints affecting marketing and distribution.
