Job Description
Sr. Frontend Developer
Evergrid
Location New York City or Remote Employment Type Full-time Location Type On-site, Hybrid, or Remote Department Product & Engineering Compensation • Competitive base salary • Equity About Evergrid Evergrid builds the infrastructure that powers advanced artificial intelligence at scale, with the Most Advanced Neocloud. We design and operate critical GPU and power infrastructure for frontier AI workloads — environments where performance, reliability, and execution are non-negotiable. Our customers are building systems at the edge of what’s possible, and they depend on infrastructure that scales quickly and works under sustained pressure. We care deeply about outcomes, ownership, and building durable systems and long-term partnerships. The Role As a Senior Frontend Engineer (AI Cloud Platform), you will architect the intelligent control plane for Evergrid’s Neocloud. You will be responsible for the "Service Portal" and "Platform Admin Console," transforming complex infrastructure data into a seamless, intuitive user experience. This role sits at the intersection of high-performance computing and modern product design. You will build the interface that allows researchers and engineers to provision massive GPU clusters, manage distributed training jobs, and visualize the real-time pulse of their AI infrastructure. We are looking for a product-minded engineer who can translate kernel-level telemetry and massive scale billing data into a clean, "AI-Native" console that feels as responsive as a consumer app. What You’ll Do Core Console Architecture - Architect and build the unified web console that serves as the "Mission Control" for our users, enabling them to manage tenancy, identity, and compute resources from a single pane of glass. - Develop complex provisioning workflows that simplify the deployment of high-density resources (e.g., bare metal MI300x clusters, H100 nodes) into single-click experiences. - Implement real-time state management to handle asynchronous infrastructure events, ensuring the UI always reflects the true state of provisioning, scaling, and recovery. Data Visualization & Analytics - Build high-performance dashboards to visualize granular GPU usage metrics, thermal health, and cluster load without performance lag. - Create interactive financial visualizations for the "Revenue Center," allowing users to drill down into compute, storage, and network costs across different zones and regions. - Design visual topologies that show users exactly how their workloads are distributed across nodes, racks, and high-performance interconnects. Interactive Compute Environments - Engineer the frontend experience for "Notebooks as a Service," creating a robust wrapper for launching and managing data science environments directly in the browser. - Build low-latency, web-based interfaces for "Deployment as a Service," simplifying the complexity of container image selection, replica scaling, and inference configuration. - Optimize the UI for high-frequency updates, ensuring that "AI Services" (like model training progress or inference latency) are displayed in real-time. What We’re Looking For - 5+ years of experience building complex, data-heavy single-page applications (SPAs) using React and TypeScript. - Deep proficiency with Next.js for handling hybrid rendering strategies (SSR/CSR) and performance optimization. - Strong skills in data visualization using libraries like D3.js, Recharts, or Visx to render complex timeseries data and resource topologies. - Experience building "Developer Tools" or infrastructure dashboards—you understand the difference between a marketing site and a mission-critical console. - Use of AI in your workflow to accelerate prototyping and development. - A "User-First" approach to complexity: You can take intricate concepts like "Virtual GPUs" and "Kubernetes Schedulers" and abstract them into simple, elegant UI components. Nice to Have - Experience designing UIs for cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or ML Ops platforms (Weights & Biases, Databricks). - Familiarity with the Jupyter ecosystem or building IDE-like experiences in the browser. - Basic understanding of Linux/Networking concepts, helping you better empathize with the workflows of our HPC and AI research user base.

We spend each day thinking of new ways to help our customers and contribute to the greater good of our company and our surrounding communities. We are all about assisting each other and breaking through barriers to create the most loved audit, risk, ESG, and InfoSec platform by our customers. This is how we have become one of the 500 fastest-growing tech companies in North America for the seventh year in a row, as ranked by Deloitte! Senior Software Engineer II – Frontend (Web Frameworks) About the Role As Optro continues to scale its enterprise ecosystem, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join our Web Frameworks team. You will have an opportunity to rethink how our frontend communicates with backend services — ensuring data flows reliably and efficiently at scale. Your work will directly improve the functionality, security, and responsiveness of the platform, and will unlock new capabilities for our largest customers. This is a great opportunity if you're the kind of engineer who wants to go beyond just writing code. You'll have real influence on how a critical part of our product evolves, you'll work closely with experienced engineers who'll invest in your growth, and you'll be in an environment where speaking up and thinking broadly is genuinely valued — not just encouraged on paper. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities - Optimize Data Access: Work with a team to design solutions and execute on cross-team initiatives to modernize complex UI components and leverage high-performance paginated query APIs. - System Collaboration: Partner closely with Platform, Architecture, and Product teams to align on migration roadmaps and technical execution. Stay aware of what's happening across the engineering organization. Understand how your work connects to and affects other teams, and factor that into your approach. - Technical Leadership: Become a subject matter expert on frontend API access patterns; participate in deep-dive code reviews and provide constructive feedback for continuously improving our API endpoints and frontend integration. - Mentorship: Scale your impact by mentoring engineers, documenting best practices, and helping to define agentic coding standards to streamline frontend modernization while maintaining code quality and stability. - Risk Management: Proactively identify technical debt and migration risks, providing accurate estimations and clear communication to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications - Strong Frontend Engineering Skills: Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (Ember.js is a significant plus, but we value strong experience in React or Vue as well). - Familiarity with Modern API Patterns: A strong understanding of modern API standards (e.g., JSON:API), pagination strategies, and complex query builders. - Experience with complex refactors: You've contributed meaningfully to large refactors or migrations, and you understand the patience, coordination, and attention to detail that kind of work requires. - Communication & Influence: Exceptional ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and drive consensus across disparate teams. - Genuine Curiosity: You're the kind of person who wants to understand why something works the way it does, not just how to use it. You dig into problems, ask good questions, and aren't satisfied with surface-level answers. Our Company Values - Customer obsession: It starts and ends here. Consistently ask yourself how what you’re doing creates value for our customers. It’s a mindset. - Gritty resilience: Make it happen. Find a way. Move fast, stay positive, and do what it takes. - Drive innovation: Create the future. Continuously improve what exists and invent what’s next. - Win, together: One team. No silos, no egos. Drive to be the best and support each other’s success. - Growth mindset: 10x, not 10%. Think in orders of magnitude, not increments. Seek feedback, learn, and improve. Perks* - Launch a career at one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in North America! - Live your best life (LYBL)! $200/mo for anything that enhances your life - Comprehensive employee health coverage (all locations) - 401K with match (US) or pension with match (UK) - Competitive compensation & bonus program - Flexible Vacation (US exempt & CA) or 25 days (UK) - Time off for your birthday & volunteering - Employee resource groups - Opportunities for team and company-wide get-togethers! *perks may vary based on eligibility/location Please note that background checks are required. Qualified Applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for Employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. This role may have access to highly sensitive data, including employee data, customer data, company financials, and proprietary product information. We love building strong partnerships, but please note that Optro cannot accept unsolicited resumes from agencies. Any submissions without a signed agreement in place will not create a fee obligation. #LI-Remote
