Job Description
Head of Engineering
Particula
Hi, we're Particula - the prime rating provider for digital assets. Our mission is to make digital asset markets more accessible, secure, and transparent for institutional investors. Join us and shape the infrastructure powering the future of tokenized finance. 👋 About the Role We're building the infrastructure layer that makes risk in tokenized finance machine-readable, onchain, and composable: an AI-driven risk scoring engine, a cross-chain risk protocol, and an institutional-grade analytics platform. The technical challenges are ingesting and normalizing onchain and offchain data at scale, running statistical risk algorithms on a hybrid database architecture, streaming real-time market signals, and serving everything through a multi-portal institutional platform - all with an AI/ML pipeline deeply embedded in engineering workflows, including AI-assisted coding across the team. Down the road: ISO 27001 and SOC 2. We're hiring a Head of Engineering to own and scale this function - leading day-to-day execution, stabilizing core infrastructure, and growing team velocity. You'll work directly with the CTO and Head of AI to turn a big technical vision into reliable, production-grade systems. Our Stack: AWS EC2/EKS/ElastiCache/Amplify/Kinesis/SageMaker, Python, Laravel, Nuxt.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Qdrant, Claude, Cursor, Langdock, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, SonarQube Tasks - Own the engineering team - run all 1:1s, manage performance, unblock engineers, and drive accountability across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure. - Stabilize and scale core infrastructure - identify and resolve critical gaps in our existing systems, establish engineering standards, and build toward a resilient, production-grade architecture. - Drive delivery - translate product and business priorities into clear engineering roadmaps, sprint structures, and shipping cadences. - Coordinate with the Head of AI - ensure smooth integration between the AI pipeline and the broader platform infrastructure, from data ingestion to API delivery. - Build engineering culture - introduce the right processes (code review, incident response, documentation, testing) without creating bureaucracy. - Hire and grow the team - own recruiting, onboarding, and team composition decisions in close alignment with the CTO. - Represent engineering in leadership discussions - bridge the gap between technical reality and business expectations. Requirements - 7-12 years in software engineering, with 3+ years in an engineering leadership role owning a team directly (not just tech lead). - Proven track record managing and growing small-to-mid-size engineering teams in a fast-moving startup environment. - Strong full-stack understanding: backend systems, frontend delivery, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and API design. - Experience inheriting and stabilizing broken or scaling infrastructure - not just greenfield builds. - Excellent people manager: you do 1:1s properly, give direct feedback, and create clarity in ambiguous environments. - Strong communicator upward (founders/CTO) and downward (engineers) - you translate between vision and execution fluently. - Highly structured and process-oriented, but pragmatic - you ship, then you improve. - Entrepreneurial by nature: you build, you own, you drive. - Bonus: familiarity with data-heavy platforms, analytics infrastructure, or financial/fintech products. - Bonus: exposure to blockchain or Web3 infrastructure. Benefits - Offsites with the team in exciting locations - Flexible working hours in a company that relies on remote work - Exciting product in a very dynamic market environment as well as founding-level ownership of a key growth function. - Values-based start-up culture - Many opportunities to develop further and network with committed people - Flat hierarchy Send us a quick intro with your CV and LinkedIn profile. Bonus if you can share a system, team, or infrastructure challenge you owned and solved. Let's build the next layer of trust for digital assets - together!

Lapaire, See Beyond. *** Head of Software Engineering Job description Location: Remote / Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire Contract type : Permanent contract Start Date : April 2026 Direct reports : Business Analyst, IT Assistant Hierarchy : Reports to the CEO The Mission We are a fast-growing optical retail scale-up. We don't build customer-facing apps; we build a high-performance engine that runs a business. We are looking for a Head of Software Engineering who is 60% Architect/Coder and 40% Strategic Problem Solver. You will own our entire technical ecosystem, ensuring our data is real-time, our inventory is bulletproof, and our third-party SaaS tools actually work the way they’re supposed to. Your Daily "Hands-on" Reality - Data Plumbing: You will write the scripts (Python/Node.js) to bridge APIs between our different SaaS (Zoho Books, Freshworks, Google Cloud, Payspace and others). - The "One Truth": You’ll optimize our Google Cloud / BigQuery / Looker stack to move from "next-day" reporting to "next-hour" live insights. - Vendor Aggression: When our SaaS crashes or lags, you will dive into the network logs, identify the bottleneck, and hold the vendor’s developers accountable until it’s fixed. - Automation: You will identify manual bottlenecks in HR, Finance and SC (eg. bonuses, expenses, tax e-invoicing) and either find the right SaaS tool or build a custom integration to automate it. The Tech Stack - CRM/POS: Freshsales, CPOS/MSI (SmartOSC) - Data/Analytics: Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery/Functions), Looker - Accounting/Payments: Zoho Books, PawaPay, Julaya - Communication: WhatsApp/Messenger API integration with LLMs - Payroll/HR: HRIS, Payspace Ideal profile to succeed in the role - You have 12+ years of experience with a previous experience as Senior Dev or Lead Engineer but realized you care more about business outcomes than just "clean code." - The Investigator: If a sync fails, you don't wait for a ticket; you dig into the API documentation and find the conflict. - Pragmatic: You prefer a "Zap" or a SaaS tool over building from scratch, but you have the coding chops to write a custom bridge when the business needs it. - No Ego: You are comfortable managing a junior/mid-level team while being the primary person responsible for the "heavy lifting" code. - Language: Fully bi-lingual (French and English) What Success Looks Like in 6 months - Speed: Half CPOS loading time. - Visibility: Looker is the only source of truth for the entire company, updated hourly. - Accuracy: Real-time inventory is live across all outlets, blocking out-of-stock sales. - Automation: Key regional tax APIs and payment gateways are fully synced with Zoho Books.
