This fully remote role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical health insurance systems in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will be responsible for designing, securing, automating, and maintaining cloud-native database platforms on GCP, while supporting other database systems (DB2 LUW) and supporting modernization and cloud migration initiatives. Our ideal candidate will have: - Extensive GCP Database Experience: Proven expertise in designing, deploying, and managing databases on Google Cloud Platform (using services such as BigQuery or Cloud SQL) in large-scale production environments. - Cloud-Native Architecture & Performance Tuning: Experience building highly available, scalable database solutions on GCP and optimizing their performance (query tuning, indexing, capacity planning) to support complex healthcare applications. - Database Security & Compliance: Strong knowledge of cloud database security best practices (access controls, encryption, network policies) and experience ensuring compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., HIPAA) to safeguard sensitive patient data. - High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Hands-on experience implementing robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions on GCP to ensure 24/7 uptime and data integrity (e.g., automated backups, point-in-time recovery, replication/failover strategies). - Automation & DevOps: Proficiency in automating database administration tasks (backups, updates, monitoring) using scripting or Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Python, Bash) and supporting CI/CD pipelines for database changes. Please note: - Sponsorship is not available for this role. - On-call rotation is part of the schedule for this team. - While this is a fully remote role, the final round of interviews will take place onsite at our Chattanooga, TN office.
