Connection
Role Description The MSP's Principal Managed Services Consultant has a primary objective to drive sales growth of IT Outsourcing, Life Cycle Services, Managed Services, and Staff Augmentation for all Connection business units through advanced pre-sales service consulting, solutions design, and services scoping. - Draws on knowledge specific to their primary and secondary technical specialization areas to assess, qualify, design, and present service solutions of highly advanced levels of complexity to clients. - Offers insight relative to the customer’s industry and/or objectives, providing solutions based on Connection’s Solutions and Services portfolio and extended partner network. - Works collaboratively with other pre-sales roles across the Technology Solutions group, as well as other COE focus areas including Multi-Cloud, Digital Workspace, Supply Chain, and Lifecycle. - Creates new MSP service offerings based on industry trends, competitive landscape, and contemporary methods to solve business through IT Outsourcing, Life Cycle Services, Managed Services, and Staff Augmentation solutions. - Develops proposals and statements of work based on a combination of requirements gathering, data collection, and sizing exercises, as well as documented design and configuration activities. - Utilizes independent judgment and discretion on selecting from internally established presales tools, as well as vendor-provided and industry-established reference architectures and validated designs. - Designs advanced service solutions that serve the functional and technical requirements of the client, contributing to the customer’s success and ongoing enhancement of customer lifetime value. - Assists in the development of new managed services offerings according to a multi-disciplinary framework that supports Connection’s ability to deliver holistic, unified solution sets. - Articulates and presents the portfolio to Sales, current and potential customers, as well as to Product Management (PM) and Connection’s partners and vendors. - Assists with the creation and presentation of technical sales strategies to drive growth of IT Outsourcing, Life Cycle Services, Managed Services, and Staff Augmentation services. - Supports targeting sales into new accounts and expanding penetration in existing accounts with the SSE team, including participation in building and executing account plans. Qualifications - Functional knowledge, work experience, and/or certification in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) including Service Design, Service Operations, Continual Service Improvement (CSI), Service Strategy, and Service Transition. - Functional knowledge, work experience, and/or certification in Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) including Service Catalog, Service Desk, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Asset Management, and Knowledge/Policy & Procedure. - Experience with designing, developing, and negotiating statements of work. - Verifiably successful service solutions selling experience with customer-facing salesmanship proficiency, advanced presentation skills, and experience with up-sell and cross-sell strategies. - Excellent time management and prioritization with strong organizational skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations that clearly and articulately demonstrate the value proposition. - Team orientation with the ability to work with all levels of the organization. - Keen appreciation of business solutions through IT Outsourcing, Life Cycle Services, Managed Services, and Staff Augmentation services. - Requires an acute understanding of both the technology and business objectives of the client, and the ability to assess the client’s business requirements and technology needs. - Analytical with the ability to draw conclusions from data, systematic and rational. - Demonstrate skills and advanced proficiency in cost modeling. - Working knowledge of MDR, Security Operations Center, Network Operations Center, Service Desk, and the industry competitive landscape in these areas. - Conceptual with the ability to conceive mentally, formulate ideas, and use imagination to achieve results. - Inquisitive information seeker with the ability to ask probing questions to uncover root causes of problems.
