Job Description: This Vice President of Development is responsible for driving the strategic growth and expansion of Hai Hospitality’s restaurant portfolio both domestically and internationally. The position focuses on sourcing and securing new development opportunities through leases, management, and licensing agreements, while building strong relationships with developers, hotel partners, and global operators. Working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners, this role helps identify high-potential markets, shape expansion strategy, and ensure each new location aligns with Hai’s brand, financial goals, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: - Source, negotiate, structure, and secure new restaurants through management, lease and license agreements; - Assist the CDO in analyzing new markets and whitespace nationally for new restaurant leases; - Build and nurture relationships with hotel developers, owners and brands to help Hai secure license/management deals in lifestyle and luxury hotel properties in the United States; - Build and nurture relationships with international restaurant operators and developers to begin the process of Hai’s international development; - Identify appropriate sub-markets and spaces for Uchi restaurants in international markets; - Assist Hai and its investor partners in crafting an international entry and expansion strategy; - Collaborate with Hai’s existing network of third-party real estate providers to continue to build Hai’s development pipeline; - Parter with Hai’s internal design, construction, operations, culinary and finance teams to ensure every new restaurant location/design/space blends functional and commercial strength with brand alignment and excellence; - Assist in the preparation of financial proforma, sales projections, business plans, deal approval memos and investment analysis; - Represent Hai at key industry events Candidate Profile - 15+ years of experience in restaurant license/lease/management deals preferably with relevant experience in securing F&B spaces within hotels; - Experience with international growth and license/management deals; - Understanding of fine-dining concepts as well as lifestyle and luxury hospitality; - Proven track record of building development pipelines; - Strong financial and commercial acumen with a passion for value creation and scaling a business into new markets; - Understanding of real estate and data analysis; - A refined creative sensibility and appreciation for culinary innovation, design and culture; - Entrepreneurial, confident, agile and with high EQ capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment; - Position involves significant travel but can be based remotely. Candidates located near a major airport are preferred. Profile Summary: Responsible for distribution strategies as they pertain to both Corporate Markets and Tax-Exempt markets. This includes management of the consultant relationship management, TPA Relationship team, and RFP team, as well as driving growth strategies with key intermediaries. Profile Description: - Manages day-to-day activities Consultant Relations, TPA, Broker Dealer, Advisor Concierge Support and Intermediary Reporting teams, who are responsible for developing and expanding relationships to enhance Voya’s brand awareness of our retirement solutions and position Voya as a leading Retirement Services provider. - Identify key retirement distribution partners to negotiate with and develop business plans aimed at growing opportunity volumes and increasing close rates and sales success across all intermediary channels; advisors, consultants, TPAs and broker dealers. - Develop, maintain and distribute executive level reporting on opportunities, advance rates and win rates across all intermediary channels. - Assess metrics and embody ownership of driving thought leadership opportunities, product development and partner on sales strategies to drive further new business success in Voya’s Retirement business division. - Serve as Executive Sponsor, when needed, on key existing client relationships. - Collaborate closely with relationship management staff to develop and implement strategy initiatives aimed at client retention, ensuring effective communication and alignment with intermediary partners to foster long-term relationships and enhance overall client satisfaction. - Oversight of consultant questionnaires aimed at driving quality, product enhancements and attainment of final placements in support of related sales activity. - Improve overall relations with the consultant/intermediary community to drive and influence new business opportunities, increasing our blocks of business with these targeted intermediary partners in our core markets. - Works closely with Sales and Service business leaders to integrate growth strategies into our meetings with the key distributors. - Works closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to develop quality presentations to key consultants. - Establish strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders. - Lead coordination efforts related to site visits from these key distributors as well as attending conferences hosted by the key distributors. - Oversees Voya’s industry conference strategy and budget with key organizations, such as NAGDCA, ASHHRA, CUPA, NAPA, and other industry firms, as well as annual sponsorship opportunities with key intermediary partners. Partners with Marketing and other parts of the business to execute on Voya’s conference strategy and ROI (Return of Investment).
