Senior Manager, People Analytics

Instacart

• Own the multi-quarter roadmap for people analytics insights and data products, including forecasting models, dashboards, surveys, and large-scale analyses that inform priority talent and business decisions. • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 2 people analytics professionals, setting goals, establishing operating rituals, and driving scalable, high-quality deliverables. • Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, Recruiting, and Diversity, Equity & Belonging to translate business questions into analytical approaches and influence decisions with clear storytelling. • Build self-serve capabilities and data literacy across the People organization by creating trusted metrics, documentation, and training for HR and Recruiting teams. • Collaborate with analysts and engineers to evolve our people data warehouse and security model, improving data quality, governance, and role-based access in platforms such as Snowflake and OneModel. • Manage key vendor relationships (e.g., Snowflake, Qualtrics, OneModel) and ensure tools are configured to deliver reliable, privacy-aware insights at scale. • Establish a value-add reporting and analytics culture that prioritizes impact, reduces reactive work, and delivers consistent, decision-ready insights to senior leadership.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, business intelligence, or a related data-driven, stakeholder-facing role.
  • 5+ years of experience working with people analytics or HR data and processes (e.g., HCM, recruiting funnel, compensation, retention, DEI metrics).
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing analytics professionals, including goal setting and performance development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience building or maintaining dashboards in a BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and designing/analysing surveys in a platform such as Qualtrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to present insights and influence senior leadership through clear data storytelling and visualization.
  • Experience interpreting statistical or machine learning model outputs and guiding stakeholders on practical application.
  • Experience handling sensitive HR data with strong judgment around privacy, security, and role-based access controls.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
