Description of Task to be Performed: AnaVation is seeking a prevailing authority in Federal IT Security Audits. The ideal candidate must have an active Top Secret clearance and extensive experience leading and coordinating enterprise-level cybersecurity audits on behalf of large Federal agencies. We are open to full-time or part-time consultative support for the right candidate. What you will be doing - Serve as the top resident expert regarding all of the following: FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP, FISCAM, CyberScope, OMB, CNSS, ICD, and cybersecurity-related EOs, BODs, and related memoranda. - Interface with client’s senior-most leadership, including briefings up to and including Cabinet-level appointees under the current administration. - Advise the client to assure attainment of minimum “Managed and Measurable (4)” but preferably “Optimized (5)” maturity levels across all audited categories for all selected systems during the Department’s annual FISMA audit. Lead the audit on behalf of the Department. Brief results to executive-level personnel and recommend ways to increase maturity levels in future audits. - Advise the client and team regarding collection of quarterly and annual FISMA CIO metrics. Prepare, deliver, and brief results. Make recommendations for improvement. - Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing conditions. - Must possess a high degree of originality, creativity, and initiative requiring no direct supervision. Required Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications (Education/Certifications, Experience, etc): - Active CISSP or CISA certification - 15+ years leading FISMA OIG, IRS, GAO, and FISCAM audits at the enterprise level Clearance: - Active Top Secret clearance Other Required Skills & Qualifications: - Direct experience advising Federal working groups to offer expert advice regarding cybersecurity policy requirements, guidance, and metrics. Location: - This position is advisory in nature and can be performed remotely from anywhere within the US. Occasional travel to Washington DC may be required. Role Description The Physical Security Enablement Analyst is an experienced individual contributor responsible for the global security, resilience, and operational integrity of physical security IT devices and platforms. This role owns the configuration, encryption, patching, monitoring, and incident response for physical security systems (for example CCTV, access control, and alarms), working in close partnership with IT and regional security teams to ensure business continuity, reduce risk, and continuously improve the underlying security platform. Responsibilities - Physical Security Technology & Device Security - Ensure all physical security IT devices globally (including cameras, access control systems, alarms, and associated infrastructure) are configured with current, approved security settings. - Own and maintain secure configuration standards for physical security devices and supporting platforms. - Implement and maintain encryption protocols to protect data transmitted by physical security devices. - Regularly update firmware and software across the global physical security device estate to mitigate vulnerabilities and maintain security posture. - Monitoring, Resilience & Business Continuity - Partner with IT teams to manage health monitoring for physical security devices and platforms, ensuring availability and continuity of service. - Identify systemic risks impacting resilience and drive remediation to minimize operational and security impact. - Support continuity planning by ensuring monitoring, alerting, and recovery mechanisms are effective and documented. - Risk Management & Incident Response - Conduct regular risk assessments on physical security IT devices globally to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and control gaps. - Resolve security incidents raised by regional teams, including triage and resolution of P1 incidents, coordinating response and remediation activities. - Document incidents, root cause analysis, and corrective actions, feeding learnings into improved controls and automation. - Platform Engineering & Automation - Conduct API and database modelling for both relational and NoSQL databases supporting physical security systems. - Write APIs and scripts to automate recurring operational and security tasks, improving efficiency, consistency, and control. - Contribute directly to the codebase as an individual contributor, applying strong coding standards and managing technical debt. - Create enhancements and new functionality within existing systems to strengthen security posture, reliability, and usability. - Environment & Infrastructure Management - Manage server setup and ongoing maintenance for Production, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and System Integration Testing (SIT) environments. - Support deployments, releases, and code merges across environments, ensuring stability and security throughout the lifecycle. - Maintain accurate technical documentation covering configurations, environments, and system behaviour. - Documentation & Standards - Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for global physical security policies, procedures, configurations, and system architecture. - Ensure documentation supports audit, operational support, and knowledge transfer across teams. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred. - 3+ years of experience in a similar or related role preferred. - Hands-on experience securing and operating physical security systems, such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems, in an enterprise or global environment. - Practical experience supporting deployment activities, including involvement in releases, version control, and code merges. - Experience setting up and maintaining databases and server environments, including non-production environments (e.g., UAT, SIT). - Demonstrated ability to contribute to a codebase, with strong understanding of code quality, engineering best practices, and management of technical debt. - Proficiency in scripting, using languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
