Senior Power BI Developer
Willdan
• The Senior Power BI Developer is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise business intelligence solutions. • This role leverages Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL Server, Power BI, Power BI Report Builder, Power Automate, and approved AI-enabled tools to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable analytics and reporting. • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and reports using Microsoft Fabric and Azure SQL Server. • Build and support paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder for operational, compliance, and formal reporting needs. • Develop and optimize DAX, Power Query (M), and T-SQL to ensure accuracy, performance, and scalability. • Create and maintain Power Automate workflows for report distribution, refresh monitoring, notifications, and BI operational processes. • Apply data modeling best practices (star schema) and enforce data quality and consistency standards. • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and follow established governance, deployment, and access-control practices. • Utilize AI-enabled analytics and productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Fabric AI features, and approved external tools such as Claude, to support data analysis, documentation, automation, and insight generation in accordance with organizational AI policies. • Collaborate with business and data engineering teams to translate requirements into production-ready BI solutions. • Maintain documentation and support audit and compliance activities as required.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI and business intelligence development.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure SQL Server.
- Proven experience with Power BI Report Builder (paginated reports), Power Automate, advanced DAX, and T-SQL.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in compliance-driven or regulated reporting environments.
- Familiarity with BI deployment pipelines, version control, and performance-tuning tools.
- Minimal travel expected for team meetings across the United States.
