Position Summary: Core Faculty Member - BA Psychology Program The Bachelor of Psychology program is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join our growing College of Undergraduate Studies as a Core Departmental Faculty member. We offer a wide range of undergraduate courses that prepare our undergraduate students for sought-after careers in psychology as well as for a seamless transition into our graduate programs via internal articulation agreements. The ideal candidate will have strong online teaching and course development skills and have a proven and strong commitment to student engagement and retention. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Teach 18-24 credit hours spread throughout the academic year, following an online teaching model of participation in the virtual classroom at least five out of seven days · Demonstrate knowledge of adult learning theory and practices, including undergraduate-specific strategies, and model effective teaching within the classroom · Provide timely and detailed balanced feedback on a weekly basis and offer student support via online classroom, phone, and email · Hold office hours for enrolled students on a weekly basis via video conferencing · Serve as the department’s Faculty Mentor to provide general academic guidance and support, including career guidance, graduate school consideration, and student mentorship. · Host advising sessions and monthly group webinars for advisees · Collaborate to support student learning, retention, persistence, success, satisfaction, and degree completion. · Serve as a lead for curriculum/course maintenance issues · Lead, facilitate and track departmental student clubs and organizations · Remain current in field of study/teaching expertise and suggest updates to online course content to reflect knowledge updates · Proactively participate in departmental meetings, Town Halls, initiatives, newsletters, and faculty trainings · Participate in mentoring of graduate teaching assistants · Engage yearly in scholarship activities · Serve on at least two Institutional committees · Engage in administrative activities as deemed necessary by the Department Chair Position Qualifications: · A doctoral degree in Psychology is required.
