On-site Technical Trainer
Leidos
The On-site Technical Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging training programs that enable adult learners to effectively use and support technical systems. This role: - Combines expertise in instructional design, content development, and virtual facilitation to create scalable, high-impact learning solutions. - Partners with technical teams and stakeholders to translate complex system functionality into clear, user-friendly training experiences that drive adoption, proficiency, and performance. - Tracks all program personnel certifications to ensure annual certification requirements are met and that staff maintain comprehensive and current knowledge within their respective disciplines. - Documents, retains, and tracks required staff training and ensures compliance with established training frequency requirements. Primary Job Responsibilities - Design and develop comprehensive training curricula for technical systems, including virtual instructor-led training (VILT), eLearning modules, and self-paced learning solutions - Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create effective, learner-centered content - Translate complex technical concepts, workflows, and system processes into clear, engaging training materials - Develop a wide range of learning assets, including facilitator guides, user manuals, job aids, simulations, videos, and knowledge base content - Deliver interactive virtual training sessions using modern learning technologies and engagement strategies - Conduct training needs analyses to identify knowledge gaps and align learning solutions with business and system requirements - Collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, and program teams to ensure accuracy and relevance of technical content - Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, learner feedback, and performance metrics; continuously refine content - Support system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements by developing and delivering targeted training programs - Maintain and update training materials to reflect system changes, new features, and evolving best practices - Track training completion and learner progress through a training platform. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Adult Education, Human Resources Training and Development, or a related field. - Minimum of five years of experience developing, leading, and implementing training programs for technological systems supporting call center operations. - Strong knowledge of call center technologies and operational workflows. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Strong customer service skills and knowledge of call center operations. - Proven proficiency in technology platforms and electronic learning systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel. - Strong organizational, analytical, and instructional design skills. - U.S. citizenship and fluency in English required. - Ability to successfully pass criminal history, fingerprint background checks, and credential verification required. - Proficient in navigating electronic systems, computer programs, and virtual service platforms. - This position requires a separate, quiet, private, confidential space to work from, as well as having access to your own reliable high-speed internet hard wired to your home (coax or fiber from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to your home.) when working remote. Teach ARC courses within current certifications to businesses and to the community where applicable. Achieve instructional authorization for applicable program levels. 2: Manage all equipment and inventory as applicable. This may include the transport, unload and set-up of necessary materials and supplies needed to teach class. At conclusion of class, is responsible to clean equipment, report maintenance issues and return to prescribed location as applicable. Coordinate with co-instructor in preparation for academy. Prepare and distribute pre-class assignments for course participants and post-course reporting appropriately and within the defined timelines. Prepare and submit electronic and hard copy paperwork from the course. 3: Coordinate with host site management to ensure equipment is available safe and ITE knows how it works. 4: Evaluate and communicate IT Candidate performance and progress throughout the course. 5: Set up and tear down classroom space each day.
