Utility Bill Analyst
Environ Energy
• Conduct in-depth audits of customer utility bills to identify billing errors, overcharges, and opportunities for refunds or credits • Analyze utility tariffs, supplier pricing models, and state regulations to validate billing accuracy and ensure compliance • Prepare detailed case documentation and data analysis to support audit findings and client negotiations • Collaborate closely with the Director of Business Development to support client acquisition, proposal development, and strategic growth initiatives • Identify and assist with cross sale opportunities • Participate in client engagements, including virtual and occasional on-site meetings, facility walk-throughs, and presentations of findings • Review utility contracts and assist in validating terms, rates, and billing structures • Support sales tax usage studies and exemption analyses • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying process efficiencies, automation opportunities, and best practices • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate data management and reporting • Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in data analysis, utility billing, energy consulting, accounting, or a related field preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis); experience with large datasets preferred
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into clear, actionable insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to clients
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Basic understanding of utility billing, energy markets, or regulatory environments is a plus
