Job Requirements
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript and Python (through roles, internships, or personal projects)
- Experience building functional applications or scripts
- Strong interest in AI, Large Language Models, and intelligent agents
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, learning-focused environment
- Understanding of the importance of data privacy and security
- Reliable remote working setup and availability during South Africa business hours
- Nice to Have (Bonus Experience)
- Experience working with LangChain or OpenAI APIs
- Familiarity with React Native or similar JavaScript frameworks

Our mission is to evolve the standards of fixed income trading through technology and collaboration. Founded in response to the rise of algorithmic liquidity in fixed income, OpenYield launched its marketplace in 2024 to help modernize a market long defined by manual workflows, fragmented access, and legacy infrastructure. We combine a startup mentality with a sophisticated, detail-oriented approach, and we are building technology that brings firm, executable pricing, flexible integration, and a more efficient trading experience to the bond market. We are a small, flat, tech-forward team focused on moving quickly, solving hard problems, and reshaping how bond trading works. The Role We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to help build the user-facing applications and platform workflows behind our fixed income marketplace. This role will focus on developing modern web applications in TypeScript with React and Next.js, while working closely with Rust-based backend services that power trading, market data, and platform operations. You will contribute across the stack, with strong ownership of the frontend experience, including designing and building components, pages, interaction patterns, and application workflows that make complex trading and data interactions intuitive and reliable. This is a strong fit for an engineer who can translate product requirements into thoughtful user-facing interfaces, exercise strong UI and UX judgment, and deliver robust software backed by REST APIs, WebSockets, and PostgreSQL.
