Team Leader - Project Accounting

KAIZEN Asset Management Services is seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Leader for our Project Accounting department. As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the project accounting team to ensure accurate financial management and reporting across all projects. You will play a critical role in guiding your team, streamlining accounting processes, and supporting the successful financial execution of projects within the property management portfolio. This leadership role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional accounting expertise, strong management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. You will directly contribute to the company’s financial integrity and operational success. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the project accounting team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure high performance. - Oversee the preparation and review of project financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. - Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project costs, revenues, and profitability. - Collaborate closely with project managers and other departments to facilitate financial planning and budget adherence. - Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency and compliance. - Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities for the project accounting team. - Manage audit preparations and liaise with internal and external auditors. - Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting capabilities. - Provide regular updates and insights to senior management regarding project financial performance and risks. - Promote a collaborative and proactive team culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles and property management industry practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Experience with financial audits and regulatory compliance is an advantage.
