The Global Manager, Survey Science Architecture, Analytics & Programs, as a key member of the Talent & Insights Team of COEs, leads the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies' employee listening ecosystem. This role is responsible for designing and managing employee surveys and the data architecture to support them, developing advanced sentiment‑analysis models, and transforming employee feedback into actionable insights that strengthen engagement, culture, and organizational performance. The manager partners closely with People Insights & Analytics Team, HRBPs, business leaders, the full Terumo Group of surveying professionals, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure employee voice is accurately captured, ethically analyzed, and effectively translated into meaningful action. With this oversight of enterprise-scale data architecture, this Global Manager will leverage a high-performing and innovative end-to-end software/data system. ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Leads the design, deployment, and enhancement of employee surveys, pulse checks, and listening programs across the full talent lifecycle (onboarding, exit, etc.). - Lead the architecture and design of complex, distributed systems with a focus on scalability, security, and performance. - Leads the design and deployment of a new suite of surveys to measure behaviors in support of leadership pathways and other development and training interventions to measure the ROI of talent investments. - Develops and maintains NLP‑based sentiment‑analysis models to evaluate open‑text feedback and identify themes, tone, and emerging risks. - Integrates structured and unstructured data to produce comprehensive insights on employee experience, engagement, and organizational health. - Delivers dashboards, reports, and executive‑ready presentations that clearly communicate trends, risks, and recommended actions. - Delivers modeling to predict risk in sentiment data (eg, likelihood of attrition, etc.). - Partners with HRBPs, and business leaders to interpret results and prioritize interventions that improve employee experience. - Manages, coaches, and develops across the insights team of Data Scientists and Engineers, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, curiosity, and innovation. - Partners with Global Leader Talent & Insights and Legal to ensures data quality, privacy, governance, and compliant and ethical use of employee feedback data. - Evaluates and implements new tools, technologies, and methodologies to advance the employee‑listening strategy. - Uses state-of-the-art tools and technologies to enable full cloud optimization, seamless elasticity and end-to-end automation with considerations for both performance and architecture. - Makes modifications and updates to existing data pipelines as necessary. - Critically reviews current and future data structures with an eye towards simplicity, performance, and scalability. - Define and enforce architectural standards, secure development practices, and DevOps principles across the People Data team. - Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies. - Lead architectural reviews, technical design sessions, and cross-functional planning initiatives. - Ensure traceability of requirements through design, implementation, and validation phases. - Help to foster the data-driven and technology-savvy culture across our business by serving as a tech evangelist and encourage forward thinking development. - Participate in SAAS technology evaluations and/or collaborate with other areas of business on technology strategy—and with an enterprise mindset. - Project management for survey deployment as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS - Ten (10) + years of experience in analytics, data science, people analytics, or a related field. - Demonstrated success in leading secure software architecture initiatives. - Hands‑on experience with NLP, sentiment analysis, and text‑analytics methodologies. - Proficiency with Python or R, as well as business intelligence and data‑visualization tools. - Experience designing, administering, or analyzing employee surveys or similar research instruments. - Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytics into clear insights for senior stakeholders. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering and/or Statistics and/or related field, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered. Master’s preferred. Experience - Experience with Python, Java, C++, Scala or similar object-oriented programming languages and using software automation/CICD tools. - Experience with Tableau, R Shiny, Microsoft BI and/or modern data visualization technologies. - Experience with Qualtrics, Glint, and other Employee Sentiment/Survey Softwares. - Experience with LLM‑based text analysis or modern embedding models. - Familiarity with i/o psychology, psychometrics, experimental design, or causal inference. Preferred Qualifications - Prior leadership or team‑management experience. - Knowledge of organizational psychology, employee engagement frameworks, or EX measurements. - Exposure to/ Experience with Alteryx Server a plus. - Exposure to/ experience with Lean Six Sigma preferred. - Project Management experience and/or certification. -Or- An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered. The manager analyzes trends in crisis reporting, identifies systemic risks and policy gaps, and recommends improvements that advance student wellbeing and institutional compliance. This role provides direct supervision to crisis response professionals and stewards quality assurance, metrics, and continuous improvement for the Crisis and Critical Needs Program. Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities - Defines and implements consistent departmental practices for crisis triage, risk/safety planning, documentation, post‑incident review, and referral/hand‑offs, including service level agreements (SLAs). - Chairs the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), leading multidisciplinary case reviews and threat/risk assessments; ensures alignment with national best practices. - Safeguards confidentiality and manages FERPA/Clery/Title IX intersections, exercising appropriate mandated‑reporting judgment. - Educates faculty, staff, and leaders on crisis recognition, de‑escalation, mandated reporting, and referral pathways. - Analyzes crisis trends and prepares reports, dashboards, and presentations to inform institutional decisions. - Leads hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, corrective action, and termination for Crisis Program staff. - Conducts regular team meetings and 1:1s; ensures consistent and compliant case management practices. - Maintains team KPIs (response times, caseload complexity, closure rates) and implements continuous improvement. - Maintains team knowledge resources (extensive knowledge base, job aids) and provides professional development. - Partners with academic affairs, disability services, ombuds, Title IX, site security, internal and external Emergency Management committees, vendors, and agencies. - Oversees technology and secure data needs for case management and BIT documentation. - Performs other duties as assigned This job description includes a general representation of job requirements rather than a comprehensive inventory of all required responsibilities or work activities. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Proven ability to lead and develop crisis‑response and student‑support professionals. - Advanced skills in risk assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning. - Strong understanding of FERPA, Clery, Title IX intersections, and state reporting. - Demonstrated trauma‑informed and equity‑centered practice. - Ability to collaborate across complex organizations and external partners. - Strong judgment, discretion, and integrity with sensitive information. - Advanced communication skills, including presentations and training delivery. - Data‑driven decision‑making and process improvement skills. Education - Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) - Active and relevant clinical licensure (LCSW, LPC, or equivalent) Experience - 7 years of experience in crisis/behavioral health/student‑support, including - 3 years of experience in higher‑education leadership with supervisory responsibilities, and - 2 years of experience with BIT/CARE/threat‑assessment leadership Experience in lieu of education Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager. Preferred Qualifications - Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license - Training/certification in threat assessment (NaBITA, SIVRA‑35, WAVR‑21). - Experience with Clery, FERPA, and Title IX intersections. - Experience developing campus‑wide crisis education and prevention. Travel This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed.
