We are an ethically driven creative agency with a focus on five core missions of impact: - Sustainability - Women’s Empowerment - Giving Back - Mental Health + Wellness - Diversity + Inclusion MoonLab is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Designer to join our creative team on an initial 3-month contract basis, with the potential to convert to a full-time role based on business needs and overall fit. This is a real opportunity to grow with a creative agency doing meaningful work across live events, brand activations, and marketing initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Junior Designer will support the execution of graphic design assets across MoonLab projects, helping bring creative concepts to life through clear, thoughtful, and production-ready visuals. This role assists in carrying creative concepts from development through final delivery, ensuring all work is visually consistent, on brand, and prepared for real world production. This position works closely with senior designers, producers, and creative leadership to support graphic ideation and design across physical and digital touchpoints including event signage, wayfinding, presentations, event collateral, digital content and internal design needs. This is an ideal role for a motivated designer early in their career who is excited to learn how design translates into live environments and physical experiences. Design Support & Execution - Support senior designers in executing graphic assets for projects including tradeshows, conferences, pop-ups, galas, and brand activations. - Assist with the creation, revisions, and execution of graphic design concepts while maintaining client brand guidelines, goals, staying within budget, and objectives. - Create and update production-ready graphic files for digital and physical applications such as signage, vinyl, decals, banners, wayfinding, and environmental graphics. - Assist with template and formatting for creative decks, client presentations, recap decks, and internal documentation. - Assist with moodboard creation, furniture research and vignettes as needed for various types of projects. - Prepare files for print and fabrication, following provided specs, templates, and production guidelines with the opportunity to learn print vendor communication and management. - Make revisions quickly and accurately based on internal and client feedback. - Support internal MoonLab brand design needs as needed, including assets for marketing, social media, awards submissions, internal presentations, and thought leadership initiatives, while maintaining brand consistency and visual standards. Collaboration & Learning - Partner closely with designers, producers, and the head of design to understand project needs, timelines, and technical requirements. - Learn how experiential concepts move from creative development to production and installation. - Support concept development through thoughtful design execution and iteration. - Work cross functionally to support project timelines and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule. - Learn to translate creative direction into clean, accurate, and buildable graphic assets. - Participate in internal reviews and feedback sessions to continue developing design skills and production knowledge. - Develop familiarity with client brands, brand guidelines and project contexts to ensure consistency and accuracy across multi-project deliverables Organization & Process - Maintain organized working files and follow MoonLab’s design templates, naming conventions, and versioning standards. - Assist in managing asset libraries, brand guidelines, and shared design resources. - Support updates to graphic templates, print grids, and print mechanicals in creative decks - Help track graphic deliverables and deadlines in coordination with the production team. - Support quality control efforts by double checking files for accuracy, consistency, and proper formatting prior to handoff. Growth & Development - Stay curious and engaged with design, experiential, digital, and social trends. - Build foundational knowledge of how graphic design functions within live events, digital elements and physical environments. - Learn best practices for designing with sustainability, accessibility, and real-world constraints in mind. - Grow technical skills and confidence under the guidance of senior designers and leadership.
Job Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in graphic design (agency, in-house, or relevant internship experience).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite & Figma, with a strong emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Basic understanding of print production and file setup for physical applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to take direction, ask thoughtful questions, and apply feedback effectively.
- Comfortable working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicative, dependable, adaptable, and excited to work across teams and client brands.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong design fundamentals, typography, layout, and visual consistency.
- Interest in experiential design, events, and creating impactful work that exists in the physical world.
- Alignment with MoonLab’s mission pillars of Sustainability, Women’s Empowerment, Giving Back, Mental Health + Wellness, and Diversity & Inclusion.
- Required Travel: As needed for projects and client activations.
