Pricing Systems Analyst

SmithRx

Who We Are: SmithRx is a rapidly growing, venture-backed Health-Tech company. Our mission is to disrupt the expensive and inefficient Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) sector by building a next-generation drug acquisition platform driven by cutting edge technology, innovative cost saving tools, and best-in-class customer service. With hundreds of thousands of members onboarded since 2016, SmithRx has a solution that is resonating with clients all across the country. We pride ourselves for our mission-driven and collaborative culture that inspires our employees to do their best work. We believe that the U.S healthcare system is in need of transformation, and we come to work each day dedicated to making that change a reality. At our core, we are guided by our company values: - Integrity: Our purpose guides our actions and gives us confidence in the path ahead. With unwavering honesty and dependability, we embrace the pressure of challenging the old and exemplify ethical leadership to create the new. - Courage: We face continuous challenges with grit and resilience. We embrace the discomfort of the unknown by balancing autonomy with empathy, and ownership with vulnerability. We boldly challenge the status quo to keep moving forward—always. - Together: The success of SmithRx reflects the strength of our partnerships and the commitment of our team. Our shared values bind us together and make us one. When one falls, we all fall; when one rises, we all rise. Job Summary: The Pricing Systems Analyst will be the architect and the builder behind SmithRx’s pricing models and bid data infrastructure. This role focuses on the back-end development, refinement, and enhancement of our proprietary pricing tools using SQL, Tableau, and Looker. You will act as the bridge between the Proposals teams and our Data, Engineering, and Operational departments, ensuring our data pipelines are robust, our models are accurate, and our pricing pathways are cutting-edge. While focused on development, this role remains a critical subject matter expert, providing ad-hoc support and direct contribution on high-complexity submissions when the pipeline requires support or deep technical intervention. What you will do: - Design, build, and refine complex pricing models in SQL and Looker to automate and enhance the accuracy of client savings projections. - Translate business requirements from stakeholders into technical specifications for the development and validation of our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) in collaboration with the Data Analytics and Engineering groups. - Coordinate directly with Data and Engineering teams to ensure pricing logic is aligned with broader company data architecture and product roadmaps. - Contribute to the evolution of the Pricing Analytics codebase, adhering to best practices for development, rigorous audit protocols, and code reviews to ensure "client-ready" accuracy across all automated tools. - Maintain a transparent project roadmap for pricing tool enhancements and create detailed technical documentation for all pipelines and internal logic. - Provide "Tier 3" technical support to the Submission Pod, stepping in for highly complex ad-hoc analyses or during peak volume periods to ensure queue stability. - Execute deep-dive analyses and investigations into large datasets and provide clear insights on findings. - Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and external partners through email, Slack, phone, video call, and Jira. - Develop a complete understanding of reporting needs and work cross-functionally to scope projects and develop self-service BI reporting and automation whenever relevant. - Continuously analyze and evaluate existing reporting processes, identifying inefficiencies or gaps, and proactively deploying creative solutions to enhance operational effectiveness. What you will bring to SmithRx: - Experience: 3-5 years in a Data Analytics or Pricing focused role - Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or equivalent). - Advanced proficiency in SQL (complex joins, CTEs, optimization) and experience with Looker (LookML), Tableau, or similar BI tools. - Familiarity with GitHub/Version Control and project management tools (e.g., Jira) is highly preferred. - Industry Knowledge: PBM or Healthcare experience is a significant plus, specifically regarding pharmacy claims data. - Communication: The ability to take a "messy" business requirement from a Sales Lead and translate it into a clean, repeatable technical specification. - Soft Skills: Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Attention to Detail: You take pride in the accuracy of your formulas and the cleanliness of your code. - Leadership: Capable of facilitating deep technical discussions with Engineers while being able to translate the "why" to non-technical stakeholders. What SmithRx Offers You: - Highly competitive wellness benefits including Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance - Flexible Spending Benefits - 401(k) Retirement Savings Program - Short-term and long-term disability - Discretionary Paid Time Off - Paid Company Holidays - Wellness Benefits - Commuter Benefits - Paid Parental Leave benefits - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Well-stocked kitchen in office locations - Professional development and training opportunities
