The position will be responsible for carrying out accounting activities with guidance which include daily, weekly and monthly journal activities, month end closing, reporting and account reconciliations. Also support compliance and audit tasks. What You Will Do - Work with global teams geographically and across all Harman businesses. - Perform daily tasks in accordance with written instructions and based on guidance from the line manager or senior team members. - Collaborate within the general ledger accounting team and the line manager. - Provide back-up for one selected team member as appointed by the line manager. Month end closing: - Prepare and post journals entries for various standard and ad hoc activities viz., Accruals, provisions, reserves, recharges, reclasses, etc. - Reconcile key GL accounts to ensure no unusual balances are left in Balance Sheet - Maintenance of GL accounts, cost centers, WBS elements, etc. in SAP (where required) Balance Sheet Reconciliations: - Reconcile various Balance Sheet GL accounts using standard templates and provide aging analysis where applicable. - List open items with appropriate action plan and target dates of closure. - Follow up with relevant action owners to timely resolve open items. Compliance: - Periodic review and update of Control documents - Adherence to compliance in all activities and ensure zero deficiencies. What You Need to Be Successful - Bachelor’s degree with 3+ yrs of experience OR Masters from a Tier 1 institute OR CA Freshers - Strong accounting knowledge, good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS - Strong interpersonal skills with stakeholders and other colleagues - Good understanding of Chart of accounts, cost objects - Strongly demonstrate ownership qualities in the function you lead. - Strong communication and presentation skills - Excellent MS office suite skills (Excel, PPT, Word) Bonus Points if You Have - IFRS certification / ACCA / CMA / CPA / CFA - Working experience in SAP, S4HANA and/or a consolidation tool (One Stream) is a plus. - Attention to detail, analytical, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to effectively work across functional boundaries to bring tasks to successful conclusion. - Coming in with a Transformation mindset and the ability to challenge status quo.
