Responsibilities - Act as a technical lead in the cloud infrastructure space, partnering with senior developers and architects to design, reason about, and evolve large‑scale, fault‑tolerant, high‑performance platforms underpinning next‑generation Azure SKUs. - Demonstrate judgment across system design tradeoffs spanning compute, storage, networking, reliability, performance, security, and operability. - Own and drive end‑to‑end architectural alignment across hardware, firmware, software, and control plane components—ensuring that new platform capabilities and SKUs are architected holistically for Azure‑scale deployment, long‑term fleet sustainability, and operational excellence. - Partner with a cross‑functional execution team spanning hardware engineering, software development, capacity planning, supply chain, and datacenter operations to orchestrate the full lifecycle of highly complex SKUs: architectural definition, development, planning, buildout, validation, and eventual production launch into the Azure fleet. - Lead architecture and design tradeoff discussions across organizations by authoring and reviewing technical proposals, evaluating alternative system designs, and driving consensus on scalable solutions. Translate complex distributed‑systems concepts into clear recommendations for engineering, operations, and business leadership. - Serve as a technical integrator across organizational boundaries, identifying architectural gaps, systemic risks, and cross‑stack dependencies that emerge only at fleet scale. Proactively drive alignment and decision‑making across Azure and Microsoft partner teams to ensure coherent, end‑to‑end system behavior. - Define and own program goals, technical success criteria, and prioritized roadmaps for the systems and SKUs under management. Translate ambiguous platform requirements, partner constraints, and customer needs into execution plans grounded in architectural realities, capacity constraints, and long‑term platform strategy. - Drive architecturally informed risk management, anticipating scale, performance, reliability, supply chain, and operational risks early in the design and planning phases. Use data, telemetry, and operational insights to influence design adjustments and de‑risk large‑scale rollouts. - Establish and track system‑level success metrics (OKRs and KPIs) including reliability, performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and customer impact. Additional or preferred qualifications - Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience. - 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. - 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos). - Depth of knowledge and experience in Cloud Platforms & AI Solution Plays (Secure Migration and Modernization, Unify your Data, Innovate with Azure AI & Agents) and the broader Partner ecosystem - 5+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external) - 5+ years experience in delivery of projects, delivery strategy, or delivery management functions. - Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications) - Understanding of the SME&C market and its unique challenges and opportunities. - Proficient communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment. - Proficiency in data analytics tools and software. - Proficient problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
