Impact Tracking Senior Specialist

Sand Tech Holdings Limited

Are you someone who can turn complex data into clear, credible evidence of real-world impact? We’re looking for an Impact Tracking Senior Specialist to build and scale how we measure and communicate the outcomes of our work across critical sectors like healthcare, water, and energy. You’ll work directly with governments, partners, and internal teams to define what success looks like, track it rigorously, and translate it into insights and stories that drive better decisions. This role sits at the intersection of data, strategy, and real-world deployment; giving you the opportunity to shape how AI delivers impact at national and global scale. If you’re interested, read on… About Sand Sand Technologies is a global Physical AI company using data and AI to make critical industries work better. We partner with governments, cities and enterprises to improve how essential systems operate across healthcare, water, energy, telecommunications and infrastructure. Our work delivers proven real-world impact. We have built AI systems that help manage London’s water supply, supported telecom network planning across hundreds of cities, and developed digital healthcare platforms serving tens of millions of people across Africa. From intelligent command centers to AI-powered infrastructure platforms, we help organizations sense, analyze and act in complex environments. Our people are ambitious, curious and relentlessly practical. Our teams work alongside clients in the field, solving hard problems and deploying solutions that last. With colleagues across Africa, Europe, the UK and the US, we operate across the full stack - from research and engineering to deployment and capability building. Our mission is simple: to harness AI to solve humanity’s most pressing challenges. About the role Sand is seeking a Senior Impact Tracking Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of rigorous systems that measure, verify, and communicate the real-world impact of our programs, products, and operations. This role will build and institutionalize a robust impact measurement architecture — including defining KPIs, developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, strengthening data pipelines, and producing high-quality reporting — enabling leadership to make evidence-based decisions and allowing Sand to credibly demonstrate outcomes to governments, partners, and funders. A core dimension of this role is stakeholder engagement and influence. You will work directly with government counterparts, funders, implementation partners, and senior internal leaders to co-design KPIs and monitoring systems, align expectations on impact evidence, and communicate evaluation results in a clear and compelling way. Success in this role requires the ability to build trusted relationships, drive alignment across diverse stakeholders, and ensure that insights from impact measurement translate into improved program design, strategic decision-making, and powerful stories. Sitting at the intersection of data, research, program operations, and strategic communications, you will translate complex quantitative and qualitative findings into actionable insights and credible narratives that demonstrate the societal value of Sand’s work. You will also play a key role in building internal capability by developing tools, frameworks, and training that enable teams across markets to consistently track, understand, and communicate impact. The role involves regular travel across Sand's markets to work alongside implementation teams, partners, and government stakeholders, ensuring that impacts measurement approaches reflect operational realities and deliver practical value. Specific Responsibilities - Design and implement comprehensive impact measurement frameworks, indicators, and methodologies aligned with organizational strategy and sector priorities. - Co-develop KPIs and monitoring systems with internal teams, governments, funders, and delivery partners to ensure relevance, credibility, and adoption. - Establish and manage data-collection processes, quality-assurance standards, and governance practices for impact data across multiple programs and geographies. - Analyze quantitative and qualitative evidence to generate insights that inform program learning, strategy refinement, and operational decision-making. - Develop and maintain impact dashboards, evaluation reports, and performance tracking tools tailored to diverse stakeholder audiences. - Translate complex evaluation findings into clear narratives and strategic recommendations for leadership, partners, and external stakeholders. - Collect and curate qualitative case studies, human-impact stories, and testimonials that illustrate program outcomes; train delivery teams on effective documentation approaches and storytelling. - Embed impact tracking processes into operational workflows through cross-functional collaboration with product, data, implementation, and country teams. - Support partner, client, and public reporting requirements by providing credible evidence, methodological documentation, and assurance-ready outputs. - Build internal capacity by developing standardized tools, training materials, and guidance to strengthen impact measurement practices across Sand. Skill Requirements - 6+ years of experience in impact measurement, monitoring & evaluation, analytics, or applied research roles, ideally across multi-country programs or multi-sector environments. - Demonstrated experience designing and operationalizing impact frameworks (e.g., Theory of Change, results frameworks, baselines, targets). - Strong stakeholder management capability, with proven ability to influence and collaborate across government, funders, partners, and internal leadership teams. - Hands-on reporting and analytics skills using at least two of the following: Google Sheets, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Metabase, or similar tools. - Ability to structure complex, real-world operational data into clear definitions, reliable datasets, and trusted performance metrics. - Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with experience producing high-quality impact reports and partner-ready materials. - Working knowledge of data ethics, consent, privacy considerations, and responsible handling of sensitive data. - Familiarity with recognized impact measurement standards or frameworks such as OECD/DAC, SDGs, IRIS+, Theory of Change, or results-based management. - Experience using field data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO, Qualtrics, Google Forms) and understanding of survey design and sampling approaches. - A basic understanding of causal inference or experimental methods (e.g., A/B testing, quasi-experimental approaches) is an advantage. - Prior experience producing annual impact reports or engaging with external auditors/assurance processes is strongly preferred. Work Environment Due to the highly collaborative and internationally distributed nature of our work, successful candidates must be comfortable operating in small teams while contributing to larger, globally coordinated efforts. A strong sense of ownership, self-motivation, and discipline in maintaining clear and consistent communication through virtual collaboration tools and video conferencing is essential.
