Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A
ShipBob, Inc.
• We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) to join our small but dynamic and fast-paced team. • This role will be an integral part of the finance team supporting transportation initiatives and responsible for the preparation of financial forecasts, perform detailed variance analysis, create operational performance reporting, and build board/investor materials. • The SFA will play a critical role in ensuring that the company is able to execute its strategic plans and achieve profitable growth. • This role will be the liaison between Finance and the Transportation team, enhancing our ability to forecast, set targets, and measure Transportation cost performance across the company. • This role will also partner with others on the FP&A team to enhance ship margin analysis, reporting, and forecasting and will also aid in other strategic projects & ad-hoc work as necessary. • This role reports to the FP&A Manager.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related degree.
- 3PL or relevant experience in Transportation required.
- 3-5 years of experience in FP&A or another related field.
- Must have: Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to various stakeholders.
- High comfort level with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of NetSuite, Smartview, SQL, PowerBI, and Power Query is preferred.
- Enjoy nurturing business partnerships with senior management and teams.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines within time constraints and detail oriented.
- Able to think critically about business challenges while simultaneously absorbing new knowledge and information.
- A passion for results and love getting into the details, with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic startup environment and can navigate the ambiguities that come with it.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide coworkers.

This is a remote role supporting Eastern Standard Time. The schedule will be Sunday 8:00AM to 5:00PM and Monday through Thursday from 10:00AM to 7:00PM. This position is primarily responsible for processing and assimilating customer data to support the movement of goods between international borders. Job Responsibilities: - Prepares important documents for customs (i.e. bonds, bills, classify/release and reports), including OGAs. - Produces relative documentation to secure the release of import consolidations from carriers; handles all turnover documents to other brokers, as well as internal transfer and in-bond movements. - Manages all turnover documentation for other brokers, along with internal transfers and in-bond movements. - Handles confidential information. - Cross-trains in additional responsibilities. - Performs additional duties as assigned by management. May be required to successfully complete the following courses within twelve months: IATA Dangerous Goods, IATA Basic Export, CFR49 Dangerous Goods, CFR 15 Export Regulation, and IMDG Dangerous Goods.
