We are looking for an exceptional Field Service Engineer covering high-tech production systems, lasers, motion stages and vacuum products of MKS Instruments. The primary focus of this position is the support of lasers and amplifier systems for scientific and industrial applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - System installation, diagnose and repair of ultra short pulse laser systems, optical alignment and installation and troubleshooting of electromechanical subassemblies. - Maintain operational functionality of scientific and industrial laser equipment. - Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. - Serves as company interface with customer and factory on administrative and technical matters. - Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. - Other duties may be assigned and could include shift, weekend and on-call coverage. - USA and International travel is a requirement for customer support and for training on our products. Skills You Bring: - Associate’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree and/or applicable Certification are preferred. - 5+ years of related practical experience including experience with lasers and laser systems - Exceptional troubleshooting skills with new electrical, mechanical and optical systems - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to assume new tasks and responsibilities, self-manage, and schedule working time with minimal supervision - High degree of proficiency in PC skills including MS office, SAP, and data analysis applications - Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites across North America during normal business weeks. Compensation and Benefits: Salary Pay Range: $ 85,000.00 - 115,000.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
