Role Description Controls Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control systems, equipment, and processes. They work in various industries including building management systems, power system automation, and protection systems. Controls engineers are technical experts in areas such as: - Advanced process control - Instrumentation - Distributed control systems - PLCs - SCADA systems Specific areas of expertise for this position include monitoring and control systems in Data Centers and/or mission-critical environments. • Responsible for implementing, administering, monitoring and troubleshooting HPE NonStop infrastructure systems. • Ability to demonstrate expertise in architecture, performance optimization, security best practices and maintenance practices for critical systems. • Work closely with team members, software & hardware vendors and end-users to collaboratively design technical solutions that meet business needs. • Serve as a technical resource regarding implementation and optimization of complex server-based configurations. • Provide expertise in various infrastructure platforms that include storage management, disaster recovery systems architecture, patch management and backup and recovery. • Responsible for configuration, installation, maintenance and administration of HPE NonStop hardware and related devices and software. • Provide expertise to critical production issues and hands-on support when work volume dictates. • Accountable for administration of the organization’s backup, disaster recovery systems, and processes. • Responsible for design, configuration, maintenance and administration of the organization’s security patching systems.
