Private Cloud Consultant

reDesign

• Lead architectural discovery and technical design activities for Greenfield VMware Cloud Foundation environments • Collaborate with project managers to align design milestones with delivery plans and customer expectations • Engage customer infrastructure, network, security, and operations stakeholders to gather and validate requirements • Develop comprehensive High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation that serves as the authoritative reference for implementation • Define VCF domain architecture, including management and workload domain strategy • Design compute, storage, networking, and security architectures aligned with supported VMware Cloud Foundation models • Incorporate lifecycle management, upgrade paths, and operational sustainability into architectural decisions • Participate in design reviews with implementation engineers to validate feasibility and execution readiness • Respond to implementation feedback and adjust designs where appropriate while preserving architectural

Job Requirements

  • Mastery-level knowledge of the full VMware stack (VCF, vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Operations, Automations)
  • Proven track record of designing multi-datacenter environments
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements (RTO/RPO, SLA, Compliance) into technical specifications
  • Extensive experience in hybrid cloud architecture, including migrations and integrations with hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to command a room, present to executive stakeholders, and manage diverse technical teams
  • Expertise in designing security and compliance standards (e.g. PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP)
  • VMware Certified Distinguished Expert certification strongly preferred
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) in VKS, Automation, Storage, Operations
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification in Data Center Virtualization (DCV) or Network Virtualization (NV)
  • Experience with modern application platforms and designing infrastructure to support DevOps/DevSecOps pipelines
  • Publications, public speaking, or community contributions within the virtualization or cloud engineering space
