Assistant Relationship Manager – FI, Mashreq Global Network

• To assist Financial Institutions (FI) Relationship Manager(s) / Senior Relationship Manager(s) in preparing MIS, Business Plans, and resolving operational matters • Assist FI RMs / SRMs in strengthening relationships with FI clients and achieving financial and non-financial goals for the assigned FI clients or countries • Assist to manage FI RMs / SRMs of cross-border limits/ exposures for the assigned countries / FI clients • Assist FI RMs / SRMs marketing of FI products, through a highly professional and focused approach and as per defined marketing plan/strategy • To act as a back-up for RMs / SRMs in their absence • Support the RMs in identification of; a) existing clients’ needs by regular calling, analysing & providing market updates keeping a close contact to increase business and obtain feedback for relationship & service enhancements; and b) new business opportunities and ensuring also these are aligned with the bank’s product capabilities and relevant operational, risk management and financial crime / compliance policies • Provide "back up" support to the RMs with the day to day client management encompassing working with the local teams including operations. • Maintain a) appropriate own relationship contacts (and act as RM back-up) with existing clients and FIs, with the aim to grow and diversify the core branch payments and trade finance business with identified names / sectors; and b) work with RMs on relationships / contacts seeking to increase the origination & development of more trade finance deals, risk participations, syndications, trade loans, bilateral loans, etc., • Work with the RM team co-ordinating with other units in the branch / bank to maintain and improve service delivery standards and ensure quality service for the bank’s clients and prompt resolution of any client issues or operational problems
Job Requirements
- Sound knowledge of economy, market conditions, and regulatory environment in local market and relevant countries to Mashreq's business
- Good practical knowledge of products in trade finance / payments & treasury services as well as a broader product knowledge
- Minimum 5-7 year’s banking experience including correspondent & corporate banking
- Knowledge of credit / financial analysis, good financial crime (including AML/CFT & KYC) awareness and associated relevant policies and procedures
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
- Sound understanding of a commercial bank’s products, services & capabilities
