UPMC Health Plan is hiring a Data Scientist to join the AI team! This role may work fully remotely. The Data Scientist works independently using a robust math toolbox to discover solutions for a diverse portfolio of interesting and challenging problems. The Data Scientist develops, implements, and monitors advanced analytic, medical informatics, and predictive modeling tools for health care programs. The scientist normally works Monday through Friday daylight business hours or as needed. Responsibilities: - Responsible for conceiving, planning, designing, developing and validating robust algorithms for use in analyzing health care models. - Consults with and provides guidance on the selection and use of modeling software and programs. - Execution of all phases of quantitative research projects: identifying the business problem, data exploration, modeling, communication of final results. - Design, develop, and implement health care analytic and biomedical modeling programs. - Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to address business challenges. Perform data mining and statistical analysis to extract actionable insights. - Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into production systems. - Communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders through reports and presentations. - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning. - Employ explainability and metrics awareness to make the AI solution build better for the stakeholders. - PhD or a Master's degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field with at least two years of experience in this field OR Bachelor's degree in the above fields and at least 5 years of experience. - 3 years relevant work experience after completion of terminal degree is highly preferred. - Proven experience in data science and machine learning. - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL. - Prior healthcare experience is a bonus. - Should have experience working on Cloud based environment to build and deploy AI models. - Strong knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques. - Ability to design programs to analyze complicated scenarios. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, enthusiasm and initiative on a daily basis. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must. - Attention to detail is critical to the success of this position. - Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: - Act 34 UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Data Scientist to provide analytic and project management support for its reproductive health research initiatives. The Data Scientist position requires strong project management and data analytic skills, experience with large healthcare datasets (claims, electronic health records, etc), close attention to detail and timelines, discretion in handling sensitive information, and strong interpersonal skills. The candidate will perform data management, statistical analysis, and report preparation to facilitate the analysis of and interpretation of healthcare data. The position offers significant involvement in an exciting area of research and a collaborative research environment. Our research group uses data generated from the routine delivery of healthcare to learn about care delivery, evaluate the effectiveness of medical interventions, and generate evidence that can inform patients, providers and policy makers. Ultimately, we seek to conduct studies that result in improved care for pregnancy, cancers of the female reproductive organs, infertility, and other issue that affect persons with female reproductive organs. Job Summary Summary Responsible for analyzing data, uncovering the underlying data patterns and logic, and developing data-driven applications. They will work towards developing solutions for the entire problem-solving cycle: find/prioritize the problems, research the best algorithms to solve the problems, design robust, practical solvers, and implement them. Role Description The Data Modernization Senior Advisor will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding public health agencies through the development and delivery of technical projects that improve the use of public health data to inform decision making.
