Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Familiarity with React and/or React Native frameworks and a basic understanding of the Node.js ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience building mobile applications, preferably for iOS or Android, using the Typescript/React Native stack.
  • Basic knowledge of mobile app development from ideation to publishing.
  • Exposure to tools like Firebase, push notifications, and familiarity with basic SQL queries.
  • Comfortable using version control systems, such as Git and GitHub.
  • Curious, data-driven, and willing to ask questions to grow and learn.
  • Foundational knowledge of data structures and software design principles.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

As the Software Engineer II at Upstart, you will collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners across Product, Analytics, Machine Learning, and Capital Markets to build scalable systems that respond to changing lender needs, funding dynamics, and borrower behavior.
