About Role TigerRisk Partner LLC dba Howden Re Associate Director - Contract Drafting Location: Stamford, CT Job Description The Associate Director Contract Drafting will draft reinsurance contracts, interests and liabilities agreements and related documents in coordination with brokers, clients and reinsurers in the Treaty Reinsurance market. Create, develop and maintain reinsurance contract documentation and use knowledge of insurance/reinsurance concepts to assist broker teams with myriad projects. Interpret and assess contracts and perform quality assurance review to ensure contract wording reflects intent of reinsurance negotiations. Assess potential reinsurance exposure due to attritional and catastrophic losses. Participate in Request for Proposal and sales presentations by recommending coverage and wording enhancements. Promote, build and maintain relationships with brokers, clients and reinsurers. Understand issues, resolve problems and review working practices. Participate in department meetings to share opinions, ideas, knowledge and solutions, and work to maintain best practices. Provide technical guidance to colleagues, brokers, clients and reinsurers as appropriate regarding reinsurance concepts and contract language application. Job Requirements Requires at least Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business and Quality Management, Quality Management, or a related field. Must possess 2 years (24 months) of experience with a reinsurance intermediary in Treaty Reinsurance market, including experience with all of the following: (a) drafting and assisting in drafting reinsurance contracts through collaboration with brokers and the parties to the contract in the Treaty Reinsurance market; (b) interpreting and assessing contracts to ensure they reflect the intent of the reinsurance negotiations by coordinating with the broking teams and peer review in the Treaty Reinsurance market; (c) promoting, building and maintaining relationships with brokers, clients, and markets through regular communication via emails and virtual meetings using Zoom and Microsoft Teams to provide updates and respond to inquiries; (d) creating, developing, and maintaining reinsurance contract documentation for the Treaty Reinsurance market; (e) using Microsoft Office to draft and edit documents; (f) participating in team meetings and activities to share opinions, ideas, knowledge, and solutions; and (g) updating a library of clauses to comply with any wording required by regulation. Compensation and Benefits The expected base salary range for this role is $125,000-145,000, depending on experience and location.
