Provides advanced and complex analytical support and serves as a resource to leaders in creating effective strategies to address critical issues and opportunities. Pay Range $41.10 - $61.65 Major Responsibilities: - Develops, designs, and implements predictive planning analytical models, tools and procedures. Formulates effective strategies consistent with business strategy of the organization. - Creates and administers reports to meet end user needs and assists in creating and maintaining databases. Proactively anticipates reporting needs and offers recommendations on value-added data and reports. - Performs complex data management and manipulation to support analytics initiatives and forecasting to identify trends and determine optimal performance. Develops various approaches to management of data and analysis based on project need to ensure objectives and goals are realized through analysis and reporting activities. Generates and executes actionable reporting by utilizing data visualization tools. - Quantifies and assesses the most efficient use of resources needed to successfully execute business strategy. Identifies and analyzes capacity measures to provide leadership with data to allow for optimal service and quality levels. Identifies and establishes baselines to assist leaders in planning needs to ensure internal metrics are met and can plan for strategic priorities. - Maintains and ensures ongoing data integrity and accuracy, which includes creating and running audits to identify and correct system data integrity issues, proactively developing ways to improve processes/systems, making recommendations and implementing changes. - Independently conducts research and analysis of internal organizational information and external industry data, practice analytics, supply/demand forecasting and other model insights in order to develop strategies to proactively respond to and improve patient, business and/or market/service lines changes. - Acts as a subject matter expert in planning analysis and reporting needs. Stays abreast of industry trends and utilizes best practices for continuous improvement and analytic capability to integrate strategies. - Develops and implements concise, insightful executive summaries for reporting needs, utilizing data and modeling tools. Presents methodology and conclusions of analyses. Uses statistical analysis (e.g. regression analysis, factor analysis, predictive modeling) and applies complex analytical techniques to draw inferences and conclusions and develops recommendations based on analyses. - Develops and maintains positive, collaborative and effective relationships, communicates regularly and provides consultation services to assess needs and deliver timely information to all levels of the organization. Conducts or assists in facilitating meetings and workshops as needed. - Maintains confidentiality and adheres to Advocate Health policies when handling sensitive caregiver and patient data. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required: - None Required. Education Required: - Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field. - Bachelor's Degree in Statistics or related field. Experience Required: - Typically requires 5 years of experience in statistics, accounting, or math which includes workforce planning and analyzing multiple sources of information, statistical modeling, identifying tends, and developing recommendations to address business issues and opportunities based on data analysis. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: - Advanced knowledge and skills in applying analytical techniques used to draw inferences and conclusions from analyses and translating data/information into insights. - Experience using statistical, database management and data visualization software systems. - Advanced proficiency in MS Office, with a strong focus on Excel and PowerPoint. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with presentation skills are critical. - Must have strong critical and analytical thinking skills. - Must demonstrate integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude and enthusiasm. - Demonstrated ability in successfully completing tasks. - Strong teamwork skills. - Effective multitasking and prioritization skills. The Revenue Integrity Analyst works collaboratively with leadership to assist in development project management and implementation of process enhancements or corporation initiatives to enhance charge capture accuracy. In addition this role monitors and analyzes coding performance at the section and business unit levels. The Revenue Integrity Analyst serves as the liaison between revenue cycle operations IT and finance as it relates to charge capture documentation and reconciliation and possesses a clear understanding of the physician revenue cycle. The Analyst oversees understands and communicates departmental charging processes including the CDM charge linkages to the CDM and charging processes. The Analyst analyzes and communicates denial trends to providers and operational leaders. This position requires advanced knowledge in coding, auditing, and documentation guidelines. CPC or CCS and CPMA or CEMA is required within 1 year of hire. This position is a part of the Revenue Integrity Department and provides support to departments within the Revenue Cycle. The primary role of this position is to support education, documentation principals, clean claims, and denial prevention. Significant experience and/or certifications may substitute in lieu of degree. Revenue Integrity Objective: Supports Physicians, APPs and other billable providers by providing education on documentation and coding to the highest level of service being rendered. Serves throughout the revenue cycle, operations, and IT as it relates to charge capture, charge accuracy, documentation, denial prevention, and charge reconciliation while maximizing revenue and compliance. • Analyze and conduct regularly scheduled chart audits and education for Physicians, APPs and other billable providers by evaluating education needs from audit results as outlined in our policies. • Analyze and conduct audits for focused requests such as internal reviews, program & payment integrity reviews, payor programs. Participate in facilitation of the process from time it is received to completion of request. • Responsible for research and communication on regulatory requirements and payor policies that impact charging and reimbursement for the areas assigned. • Identify education and improvement opportunities for accuracy, outliers and missed revenue by utilizing data such as: revenue, RVUs, denials, CPTs by specialty, lag days in documentation to provide education to operational leaders and Physicians, APPs and other billable providers. • Train departments on charge reconciliation. Monitor to ensure the charge reconciliation is happening in the areas assigned. • Monitor open encounters to ensure the chart is closing within the guidelines of the policies. • Educate Physicians, APPs and other billable providers, practice leaders and revenue cycle on annual coding updates and drive necessary EPIC revisions. Work with leadership to roll out new codes as applicable and timely. • Analyze and ensure codes dropping are correct for all services rendered outside of that coded by HIM. • Support operational leaders on efforts and initiatives related to charge capture, documentation, and reimbursement items. • Collaborate with other departments (MILs, CDI, CDS, HIM, Charge Mgmt) and vendors to research where shared responsibilities for coding alignment or impact is needed.
