Head of Finance
ThanksCreating joyful and meaningful partnerships that help drive brand love and new revenue with every transaction.
Build the financial foundations that scale a global platform. Thanks is operating at a critical inflection point in the retail media and monetization space. We’ve established ourselves as the customer-first monetization platform, expanding from post-purchase into the entire customer journey - from app home screens and email through to order tracking and beyond. As we enter our next phase of growth, we’re hiring a Head of Finance to build and lead the financial capability of the business. This is a zero-to-one role for a senior operator who thrives in complexity - equally comfortable owning financial reporting integrity and generating the forward-looking insight required for sustainable scale. The role This is a hands-on, foundational leadership role, reporting to the Founder / CEO. You are not inheriting a mature finance function; you are creating it. You will own the integrity of our financial reporting end-to-end, while also leading forecasting, unit economics modelling, and cash management. You’ll also design the systems, controls, and processes that allow Thanks to scale confidently across markets. Within your first six months, you will establish disciplined reporting and forecasting rhythms and begin building out the finance capability required for long-term growth. What you’ll do - Own financial reporting and controls: Take end-to-end accountability for the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, including month-end close, revenue recognition, partner settlements, payroll, cash management, and multi-entity consolidation. You may manage external partners or hire internal support over time, but you are accountable for the numbers. - Lead financial planning and forecasting: Drive company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling across revenue, margin, hiring, and cash flow. - Model complex, performance-based revenue: Build and refine financial models across CPC, CPA, CPL and CPR dynamics - understanding margin trade-offs, settlement timing, and two-sided platform economics. - Drive capital discipline and efficiency: Develop robust cash flow forecasting and cost management frameworks that enable sustainable growth and long-term independence. - Turn numbers into decisions: Partner with founders and senior leaders to translate financial data into clear, actionable insight that informs pricing, partnerships, hiring, and investment decisions. - Design scalable financial systems: Architect and evolve the systems, reporting structures, and controls that support multi-entity, multi-currency operations across the US and Australia - leveraging external finance partners while building long-term internal capability. - Build the finance function: Hire and lead finance talent over time, evolving the function as the company grows.
