Job Description

Lead Creative Copywriter

ZOE

We have the science, the systems, and the data. Now, we need the "spark." We’re looking for a Lead Creative Copywriter to move ZOE from clear to compelling. You’ll lead our biggest campaign ideas and ensure our "red thread" of storytelling runs from a TV spot down to a performance ad. 🚀 The Big Picture We aren’t just building an app; we’re building the world's best nutrition science company. As our Lead Creative Copywriter, you’ll be the engine behind our creative cut-through. Your work will ensure that when ZOE speaks, the world doesn't just understand, they act. - Launch Tier 1 Platforms. Within 6 months, you will have defined and launched the creative platforms for our major seasonal campaigns, moving us beyond "BAU" into category-defining brand work. - Global Consistency. You will bridge the gap between our UK and US markets, ensuring our voice is culturally resonant in both while maintaining a singular, distinctive brand soul. - Creative Strategy Ownership. You will define ZOE’s creative and messaging direction, setting the narrative, identifying the right strategic territories and guiding how our story is told across channels. 👥 The Squad You’ll join the Creative Studio, reporting directly to the Head of Creative. You’ll sit at the heart of the business, partnering closely with Brand, Performance Marketing, Lifecycle, Content and PR, as well as Product, Science and Design to shape and deliver work across every touchpoint. You’ll join a team that is already strong on systems and governance. We’re a mix of science-first thinkers and design nerds. We operate with radical candour, move at startup speed, and share a common obsession: evidence-based impact. We win as a team, and we learn fast. 🧠 Your DNA - 10+ years of experience (Agency + In-house). You don't just write copy; you build "worlds" and campaign platforms. - You can take a complex gut-health study and turn it into a "holy s***" moment for a consumer without losing the integrity of the data. - You can sit with the SLT, challenge a brief with commercial logic, and define the "What and Why" of our creative direction. - You view AI as a tool for leverage. You use it to automate the "volume" so you can spend your human energy on the breakthrough ideas. - You have a proven track record of writing for both UK and US audiences, navigating the nuances of both markets with ease. - You are an autonomous domain owner. You aren't waiting for permission; you are identifying opportunities and driving measurable org-wide impact. - You are bored by "safe" health and wellness tropes. You are here to break the category. 🎯 Your Mission - The "Status Quo" problem. You'll take ownership of our creative "red thread," ensuring we move from being "accurate" to being "persuasive and disruptive." - Develop the creative strategy for our major business pillars, setting the "technology bar" for how we use copy to drive 10x impact. - Move ZOE beyond owned channels into high-stakes PR, brand moments, and scripts that define our category. - Provide high-level creative direction to our internal writers and freelancers, coaching them to think more conceptually and take bigger risks. - You’ll be writing the big stuff (scripts, manifestos, key launches) as well as writing and directing the small stuff. ✨ Our Hiring Journey We value your time as much as our own. We’ve designed a streamlined, 4-step process to get us from "Hello" to "Welcome to the team" as quickly as possible. Step 1: 👋 Intro chat with Talent Team - A high-energy intro to see if our missions align. We’ll chat about your journey, what makes ZOE tick, and make sure the basics (role, impact, and expectations) are a match. Step 2: 🧠 Hiring Manager Interview - A tactical conversation focused on your craft. We skip the generic scripts and dive straight into how you solve problems, your past wins, and the specific challenges this role is here to tackle. Step 3: 🔄 The Remote Loop - This is where we get into the details. Depending on the role and level, this stage consists of 2 to 4 focused interviews designed to assess different areas (e.g., technical skills, cross-team collaboration, or strategic thinking). Step 4: 🎉 The Finish Line (Offer & Onboarding) - If there’s a match, we don’t hang around. We’ll extend an offer, talk through equity and benefits, and get you ready for your ZOE onboarding journey. Let’s change the world’s health together. 🚀 Ready to thrive? We want to hear from you The experience, skills, and attributes we’ve outlined are what we believe will help someone truly thrive in this role. However, we understand that talent comes in many forms. If you are genuinely excited about ZOE's mission and this opportunity, please don't hesitate to apply—even if you don't meet every single requirement listed. We fundamentally value potential and commitment above all else. We are dedicated to fostering growth and providing opportunities for you to learn and develop alongside us.
