Machine Learning Intern

Cambium Learning Group

• Work with our psychometricians and data scientists to define a research problem, design an experiment, implement the study, and write up results • Write code in Python using machine learning frameworks and libraries to ingest and clean data, build models, and evaluate results • Document, archive, and present work on the project • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team discussing methods and results of this project and others

Job Requirements

  • Enrolled in a data science, computer science, mathematics, linguistic, or educational measurement Master’s or Ph.D. program
  • Experience working with text and natural language processing tools
  • Coding ability with Python
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively within a team
  • Familiarity with written Spanish would be an asset

Overview Due to growth, we are adding a Learning and Development Generalist to our team. The Learning and Development Generalist supports enterprise‑wide people development strategies as part of the Learning Services Center of Excellence. This role functions as a learning specialist responsible for the design, delivery, and evaluation of engaging virtual, in‑person, and video‑conferenced learning experiences for associates across the organization. The position partners closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, and Human Resources Business Partners to assess learning needs and develop targeted solutions, while also executing the operational aspects of learning programs, including learning technology administration, training coordination, and measurement of learning effectiveness. Responsibilities How do I make an impact on my team? - Facilitate enterprise-wide professional development programs for associates at all levels. - Design, develop, and deliver interactive training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities in virtual, in-person, instructor-led, and asynchronous formats Guide productive and positive group discussions amongst learners and coach learners on emotional intelligence, relationship-building, and leadership skills. - Coach learners at all levels on skills related to emotional intelligence, relationship-building, and more. - Partner with business units, SMEs, department-based trainers and/or HR Business Partners to conduct needs assessments and identify skill and behavior gaps. - Develop SCORM-compliant e-learning courseware and video-based training aligned to organizational priorities. - Measure, evaluate, and track learning effectiveness using meaningful metrics and feedback; ensure outcomes are equitable across learner populations. - Serve as site administrator for the corporate learning management system, supporting department‑based trainers and advancing enterprise learning standards. - Ensure learning delivery readiness for in‑person training experiences in partnership with coordinators. - Contribute to and sometimes lead Human Resource planning, associate engagement, and organizational development initiatives. - Model development by completing continuing education on an annual basis. - Travel as needed to support in‑person learning delivery. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications What our team expects from you? - Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Training, Organizational Development, or related field, or equivalent work experience, required. - 3 years of experience in a learning and development role required. - Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) required. - Experience with at least one e-learning authoring tool (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate, or Lectora) strongly preferred. - Experience with at least one learning management system (LMS) strongly preferred. - Experience supervising and leading team of direct reports preferred. - Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives. - The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.
