Pre-sales Systems Engineer
Hewlett Packard Enterprise
• Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer business drivers, networking environments, and security requirements. • Design and articulate scalable Networking architectures incorporating secure SD‑WAN, SSE, identity‑based access, and firewall technologies. • Deliver high‑impact product demonstrations, workshops, and proof‑of‑concepts showcasing HPE Networking offerings. • Position and integrate solutions across the broader HPE and Networking portfolio. • Support sales pursuits by responding to RFPs, RFIs, and networking questionnaires. • Collaborate closely with account managers, specialist peers, partners, and services teams. • Present confidently to both technical audiences and executive stakeholders. • Provide field feedback to product management and engineering teams. • Travel across operation to support customer meetings and industry events.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical presales, sales engineering, or solution architecture roles
- Hands‑on experience with Networking technologies and hardware solutions
- Strong understanding of security technologies such as firewalls, IPsec, SSL‑VPN, IDS/IPS, L2L3, etc.
- Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, BGP, and OSPF
- Familiarity with identity and access concepts including SSO, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and role‑based access control
- Working knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud)
- Comfortable delivering live demos, whiteboarding architectures, and running customer POCs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value
- Self‑motivated, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast‑moving, team‑oriented sales environment.
