Inside Sales Specialist

Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inside Sales Specialist (internal job title: Trader) to manage purchasing and marketing responsibilities for 100+ member accounts in our Building Products division. This role involves daily communication with vendors and members, coordinating orders, resolving issues, and supporting corporate sales goals. The ideal candidate will be proactive in sales outreach, knowledgeable about industry trends, and committed to delivering excellent account management. Work location: This is a fully-remote role. Ideal candidates will live in the Central or Mountain time zones. There will be some initial travel required to our New Windsor, NY office for training. Key Responsibilities: - Manage full account activity for 100+ members, including order generation and follow-up - Maintain regular contact with dealers and vendors (minimum 10 hours/week of outbound calls) - Communicate market trends and product updates clearly to members - Collaborate with Traders, Sales Team, and Management to meet group sales goals - Resolve issues such as billing disputes, vendor conflicts, and shipment delays - Administer sales literature and maintain member and vendor records - Support internal projects, spreadsheets, and department initiatives - Build product and industry knowledge through ongoing supplier engagement - Attend trade shows and visit dealers/vendors as needed - Perform additional duties as assigned Core Competencies: - Time Management - Organizational Skills - Communication Proficiency - Collaboration Skills - Customer/Client Focus - Computer Proficiency - Sense of Urgency Supervisory Responsibilities: - None Work Environment: - Professional office environment with standard equipment (computers, phones, copiers, etc.) Physical Demands: - Primarily sedentary; regular verbal communication required Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: - Full-time, in office, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours/week) Travel: - Primarily local; some overnight and out-of-area travel required Required Education and Experience: - High school diploma - Minimum 3 years of sales and buying experience Preferred Education and Experience: - College degree - Experience in the building materials industry - Roofing, Insulation, Gypsum knowledge strongly preferred - Background in quoting, purchasing, estimating, or telemarketing

Job Description: Job Summary This position provides coaching and subject matter expertise to the Inside Sales Representative (ISR). He/She trains new ISR’s, coaches existing ISR’s, serves as a product subject matter expert, and holds team performance accountability. This position helps the ISR build relationships with key decision makers and serves as a customer advocate. He/She listens to ISR phone calls and trains/coaches ISR's to use their sales skills with customers. This position partners with the ISR in customer engagements. He/She reports directly to the Inside Sales Supervisor. Responsibilities: - Listens to phone calls between customers and ISRs to assist in developing the ISR's selling skills - Participates in phone calls and serves as a subject matter expert on more complex interactions. - Maintains knowledge of UPS products and services to develop appropriate sales solutions. - Reviews customer shipping practices with the ISR to ensure contractual compliance. - Reviews customer discounts and supports the ISR with writing new contracts. - Educates ISR's and customers on UPS’s service channels to expedite problem resolution. - Trains ISR's on compelling value proposals to potential and existing customers.
