• Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and strategy for YugabyteDB’s Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS). • Lead and execute engineering projects from planning to deployment, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. • Guide and mentor junior engineers and teams, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing. • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and adopt new technologies. • Provide expert-level technical guidance and serve as a technical point person for projects and initiatives.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and fault-tolerant components for managing distributed YugabyteDB clusters. • Work closely with product management and engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into automated Control Plane workflows. • Collaborate with frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality releases. • Review code, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to engineering best practices for development and operations. • Stay up to date with emerging technologies in distributed systems, cloud, and Kubernetes ecosystems.

• Design, develop, and implement new software services and features • Maintain and improve (refactor/document) the existing product • Clearly communicate timelines, estimates, and options to non-technical management • Collaborate with other technology teams and work with your fellow developers to reliably execute and consistently deliver on goals • Work directly with product managers to transform user needs into technical requirements • Implement product requirements with minimal guidance from other engineers and leadership • Take ownership of entire systems and large software projects • Assist with mentoring junior team members • Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve software defects and security vulnerabilities • Create concise design documents and diagrams to efficiently communicate solutions

• Deliver new features and enhancements for a distributed platform, with a strong focus on quality and reliability • Own delivery for projects, driving work from concept through production with limited guidance • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to align solutions with customer and business needs • Write clear, maintainable code and provide thoughtful code reviews that improve overall code quality • Mentor and support other engineers through feedback, pairing, and knowledge sharing • Contribute to application architecture and technical design discussions • Support production systems by participating in on-call rotations and helping resolve incidents effectively • Contribute to a strong, inclusive engineering culture in a remote-first environment
