**What You'll Do ** *Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Project Controller is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of project controls functions during all stages of the project lifecycle. The Project Controller is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all data within the construction management software (budgets, spends, forecasts) and to create accurate financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders. The Project Controller will also support the Project Managers in schedule adjustments and change management.* **Key Responsibilities** The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: - Lead the continual development and standardization of project controls at Rising Edge - Project Controllers are responsible for updating each assigned project on a weekly basis to validate the accuracy of Hard Dollar (HD) data. Specifically, Project Controllers are responsible for monitoring and updating: - budget; - cost to date; - variances; and - cost forecasts (trending data) - cash flow - Provide consolidated financial reports; including milestone summaries, earned value analysis, cost incurred, and accruals - Understand contract financial terms and conditions, invoice schedules, and invoice documentation (Statutory Declaration, Waiver of Claims, etc.). Responsible for invoice review and approval - Responsible for ensuring that the HD & VP projects are setup in accordance with the contract arrangement and documentation provided by the client. - Review and approval of timesheets

Job Requirements

  • What We're Looking For **
  • Post-secondary education or diploma in Finance, Accounting or Business Management is required.
  • Experience as a project controller in an engineering/construction industry would be an asset but is not required.
  • Accreditations such as from the PCI, PMI, or AACE (such as EVM, CCP, CAPM, PMP, etc.) will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred) and construction management software (Hard Dollar and Viewpoint) an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 365, specifically Word, Excel, and SharePoint are highly desired

• Own the full global IFRS accounting, global tax, project‑cost, and management‑reporting cycle for a fast‑growing technology services business. • Co‑lead the roll‑out, configuration, and continuous improvement of Dynamics 365 BC, ensuring every finance‑relevant module is implemented, integrated, supported by the proper documentation, and used to best‑practice standards by the internal team. • Build and coach a finance & accounting team (up to 5 people) and collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Delivery, HR, and IT. • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes under US GAAP • Maintain chart of accounts, general ledger structure, and all core financial controls • Oversee financial reporting, revenue recognition (IFRS 15), project costing, and WIP calculations • Manage consolidated group financial statements and reporting processes • Manage daily bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and payment approvals • Supervise A/R and A/P processes, aged receivables/payables, and credit risk policies • Own order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes, including sales/purchase journal setup and compliance (e.g., 1099) • Oversee global payroll processing and journal integration (in-house or vendor-managed) • Manage compliance with statutory filings (T4, W-2, 1099, etc.) • Partner with Head of Legal and local providers on tax returns, VAT, sales tax, CFC reporting, and transfer pricing • Serve as functional lead for Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation and financial systems governance • Drive automation of core accounting processes: revenue, payroll, project costing, month-end close, and internal controls • Build Power BI dashboards for finance, labor cost, KPIs, and management reporting • Manage intercompany accounting, eliminations, and consolidation workflows • Implement intercompany journals, chart of accounts, and G/L entries in Dynamics • Establish and maintain effective internal controls over payroll, revenue, payments, and financial closing • Maintain audit trails, change logs, and compliance documentation for financial audits and tax inspections • Lead and optimize all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, variance tracking, and monthly performance reviews • Co-manage global accounting, payroll, and tax providers with the Head of Legal • Support external audit, tax return prep, and compliance efforts across multiple jurisdictions • Hire, train, and lead a team of accountants and analysts • Champion a culture of financial discipline, accuracy, and process improvement
