This role is based in Brazil and may work remotely, with alignment to our São Paulo, Brazil office as needed. The Staff Attorney will primarily support US-based contracting and legal workflows and will report to a US-based attorney. This role will primarily focus on contract drafting, review, and negotiation, supporting the legal department across various contracting activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer to gain hands-on experience managing contract workflows, working closely with senior attorneys and business stakeholders, and helping with continuous improvement of legal processes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: - Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), consulting (including agreements with healthcare professionals), services and vendor agreements. - Support senior attorneys with contract preparation, negotiation, and execution across multiple business functions. - Manage contract lifecycle processes, including tracking deadlines and maintaining contract databases. - Maintain and update contract templates and playbooks. - Assist with legal projects and process improvement initiatives. The essential requirements of the job include: - Bachelor's degree in Law and active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association. - Multiple years of experience in contract law (in-house or law firm). - Fluent in Portuguese and English; proficiency in contract drafting and negotiation. • Attends teleconference meetings and lead the case discussion • Taking rough notes that accurately reflect the decisions and discussion that took place during the meeting • Ensuring that a copy is filed appropriately, keeping all minutes together in a file for future reference • Intense review of each case • Create a high-level summary of each case with main points systematically outlined • OCR and Bookmarking of PDFs of medical records • Carefully monitoring the calendar of events • Writing of an Affidavit of Merit (AOM) for cases that require an AOM • Conduct continuous research on common medicolegal case topics • Create a spreadsheet that contains a brief synopsis of each case and links to files • Assist the Doctor during calls with attorneys
