Job Requirements

  • Experience with Python or R for deeper statistical analysis is highly preferred
  • Ability to provide strategic insights from data
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical audiences

Role Description UNICEF USA seeks a Community Alliance for Child Rights Intern to work with our Youth Engagement, Municipal Partnerships and Digital Strategy teams, as well as other CACR team members, on youth engagement strategies, youth-centric communications and campaigns, and research on best practices. This internship will provide an opportunity to learn about: - Best practices in youth engagement and digital strategy - Planning and executing of campaign-based activations and resource creation - Maintaining communication outreach - UNICEF programs, child-centered governance, advocacy and community engagement - Researching best practices and developing resources to support the UNICEF Clubs Program in their efforts to center children and young people in local decision-making and promote child-centered governance Key Responsibilities/Projects: - Design youth-friendly content for UNICEF USA Youth Clubs for our Back-to-School Campaign - Support ideation and creation of youth-focused social media assets and resources for key moments to engage youth clubs, leaders and a general youth audience - Provide input and support on youth activations related to campaigns, advocacy engagements, Club resources and local policy resources (Child Impact Statements, 2026 UNICEF/UUSA Youth Poll) - Help in creating asynchronous trainings for our youth audience - Develop youth-friendly training materials related to child rights, UNICEF program topics, etc. - Conduct a landscape scan of youth council resources provided by cities Qualifications - Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program such as Communications, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, or any other relevant degree programs. - Interest in research, youth engagement, content design, community organizing and local government - Must have experience with community organizing, volunteer management, and a passion for inspiring others (extracurricular activities, leaders of clubs etc.) - The successful candidate must also have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of children's rights and international issues, as well as a commitment to public service - The ideal candidate will be resourceful and energetic with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously with attention to detail - Innovation, creativity, and a team player mentality are necessary for success in this role - Demonstrated ability to lead effective presentations and workshops and ease in public speaking for groups large and small - Experience working with students or in educational programming is a plus - Experience working with local government or other types of civic engagement is a plus - Proven ability to work well with a diverse group of people in a virtual team setting - Strong communication skills, both oral and written; experience working with cross-country teams a plus - Fluency in Instagram, TikTok, Canva, Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are preferred - Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA - Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
