• Lead the design process from concept to implementation, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and design specifications. • Apply user-centered design principles to create solutions that are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with user needs and business objectives. • Contribute to and maintain Filevine's design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the platform. • Work closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other stakeholders to define requirements, iterate on solutions, and ensure successful implementation. • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, review design work, and help establish best practices within the design team. • Participate in and sometimes lead user research activities to validate design decisions and gather insights for future improvements. • Analyze user feedback and product metrics to identify opportunities for enhancing existing features and experiences.

• Proactively identify large, strategic UX opportunities that span both inside your areas and across the product. Work with other product design managers, staff, and principal product designers to drive cross-product initiatives through awareness and prioritization. • Identify strategic user research initiatives that span multiple stage groups (and possibly the entire product), and work with other product design/research managers to organize research efforts. • Be a frequent and active participant in milestones by reviewing UX deliverables (such as research and designs) that your team creates, and provide feedback to ensure high-quality output. • Communicate the value of UX to cross-functional GitLab team members and work with them to leverage the product development flow. • Help the product teams of areas you support to prioritize UX initiatives including Deferred UX, triage and resolution of UX bugs, and overall usability improvements to the product. Lead UX Scorecard initiatives in order to consistently measure the experience of your product areas and show improvements over time. • Contribute to product direction conversations, with emphasis on leading the experience vision for your product areas. • Hire, grow and retain a world-class team of Designers.

• We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer (m/f/d) with strong product thinking and a high bar for craft • Own product problems from early exploration through delivery and iteration, with clear responsibility for outcomes • Frame problems clearly, define goals, and make design decisions with explicit reasoning and tradeoffs • Design high-quality interaction and visual experiences with strong hierarchy, clarity, and attention to detail • Balance detail and direction by knowing when to zoom in and when to zoom out to maintain coherence across the product • Actively raise the quality and consistency of our visual design, interaction patterns, and overall design language • Help shape and evolve our Design System so new work strengthens the product as a whole • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers, challenging ideas openly and working as one team • Support experiments such as A/B tests and use qualitative and quantitative insights to learn and iterate • Use tools like Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar, to prototype and explore ideas efficiently • Ensure design intent is well translated into shipped product - taking responsibility for the final user experience, not just the concept
